The people in the eastern part of NY could care less about the rest of the state, so her answer is irrelevant. I think it is time to give serious consideration to splitting up the state.

In as much as there’s no official definition of the expression “upstate New York, I think her definition is as good as anyone’s. I’m inclined to agree with her. I certainly don’t think the Hudson Valley region is “upstate.” It’s definitely more associated with NYC in my estimation. Long Island is part of NYC as far as I’m concerned. Amy Fisher, Joel Rifkin, Joey Buttafuoco. NYC for sure. Heh heh.
