Feds wanted ‘Access Hollywood’ tape evidence during Trump lawyer raid

FBI agents sought records tied to President Trump’s infamous “Access Hollywood” recording when they raided the law office and hotel room of his personal lawyer, according to a new report Wednesday.

The warrant that authorized Monday’s searches also allowed the feds to seize evidence showing whether lawyer Michael Cohen tried to suppress damaging information about Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, the New York Times reported.

Cohen has admitted paying porn actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 as part of agreement signed 11 days before the election in which Daniels agreed not to discuss her claim of having slept with Trump in 2006.

Both Cohen and Trump have said Trump was not aware of the deal.

Trump was the star of “The Apprentice” when he was caught on a hot microphone bragging to Billy Bush, then the host of “Access Hollywood,” about how his fame enabled him to kiss women and “grab them by the p—y.”

Judges seem to be as at fault here as anyone, granting warrants that seem to justify taking anything they like, related the case or not.

Judges today seem to be like that.

If the lawyer paid off bimbos, without compensation then he gave Trump a gift or donation.

That's yet another new "legal" theory cooked up by activist Democrats. Lots of people do lots of things to assist candidates and causes they prefer. Under the theory than anything somebody does to help an individual is a campaign contribution, then not going to protest at a Hillary campaign event is obviously a donation to her.

So collectively, the people on FR gave Hillary a tremendous campaign "donation" by not showing up at all of her events with signs. Time to get the Special Counsel to look in to that!

I agree, and I think they’re skating on thin ice. I wasn’t aware until this week how much leeway Rosenstein’s order gives Mueller, not sure how I missed it.

Watching this unfold is similar to a movie with multiple story lines all interwoven. It appears to be a story about taking down a duly elected president and as bad as some think the president is, they will be unprepared for the wrath of half the country if they succeed.

I think this is as serious and consequential a period as was the Civil War era for our country. Some days I’m optimistic. This isn’t one of them.

It’s like the FBI has taken sides politically, doing the dirty work of the democrat party.

Isn’t WITNESS INTIMIDATION, a for-real crime?

Is harassment of people you are investigating SOP at the DOJ ? What’s next, waterboarding?

They are all hoping that all of this harassment will force Trump to resign - then they won’t have to deal with impeachment.

They aren’t dealing with McCain, Romney or Nixon here.

I think a lot of the reason for the raid revolves around the fact that Cohen is the deputy chairman of the RNC finance committee. They want to get a look at the RNC books.

I don’t disagree with your thoughts there.

I will say that I am sure folks on the Left pretty much saw the treatment of the Clinton presidency to be along these lines. They weren’t, but I’m sure they still saw it that way.

The Clinton investigations were all about high level crimes.

IMO < the defense of Clinton did serious damage to our government. We’re seeing it in this contrived investigation of Trump, sort of a pay-back, and yet there was no substance to the initial charges.

With Clinton, there was massive substance. When the House formulated the charges against Clinton, they didn’t do their work. They should have laid out the specific valid charges. What they did charge him with was peanuts.

Then Bob Dull refused to hold the Senate trial.

Here we are, with the Democrats going for the throat, something we didn’t really do.

Dole treated that nanny from Little Rock (Chelsea’s nanny) as if she was some poor persecuted soul. Never mind she reportedly received the notification of Foster’s death before he was even declared dead.

Dole made it sound like only kooks would want to hear her testimony. She sat there in the Senate, ready to testify and he didn’t even allow it.

It was around that time that I realized our government was severely broken.
