House to vote 'next week' on IRS reforms......
Washington Examiner ^ | April 13, 2018 | Joseph Lawler

Posted on 04/13/2018 12:53:15 PM PDT by caww

Rep. Kevin Brady of Texas, the Republican chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee with oversight of the tax agency, called it.... “the biggest redesign of the IRS in 20 years, one that creates a taxpayer-first service agency, reins in the IRS’ abuses, really puts taxpayers more on a level playing field.”

In addition to codifying protections for people in disputes with the IRS and setting new cybersecurity rules, the legislative package would give taxpayers new protections in the case of the IRS seizing their assets. It also would require the agency to update some of its technology and require more entities to file electronically.

Also, it would change the title of the IRS chief. He currently is known as the “commissioner of Internal Revenue.’’ Under the legislation, he would be called the ‘‘administrator of the Internal Revenue Service.”

Bah! Wake me when they do something substantive, like abolish the IRS or, if they refuse that, then at least stop the practice of extreme, abusive interest and penalties piled on top of the principal owed so that the debt doubles, triples and quadruples rapidly. Millions of Americans are in debt to the IRS, so many that the industry of companies purporting to help taxpayers reduce their debt is thriving.

Talk about abolishing and then I’ll believe.

Thank you for referencing that article caww. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Repeal the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments.

Election year dog-and-pony shows concerning tax reform aside, we’re not going to see significant tax reform that will make Pres. Trump’s vision for MAGA last for many generations until the 16th and 17th Amendments are repealed.

I don’t see anything about feeding Lois Lerner to the sharks.

I’m not impressed.

And this will protect the taxpayer from abuse?

Will the Lois Lerners of the agency see swift and just punishment or business as usual?

I somehow don’t think this is a panacea.

These kinds of bills, paper changes and new rules are just a way to shut down criticism and complaints for a short while.

But senators, congressmen and the bureaucrats will continue to ignore rules and laws until they start going to jail.

Who is going to police the abuses?

Even the DOJ and FBI are managed by and staffed with open and overt rule breakers and criminals.

They are sitting there right now lying and committing felonies while they laugh at President Trump and voters who want reform and an honest, constitutional government.

So why would congress and the Obama and Clinton Deep State people in other bureaucracies feel any need to be honest?

I’m with you, there needs to be some arrests, starting with previous head Koskinnan and Lerner — but that will never happen

I am in full agreement on this. I did an analysis of how our government had deteriorated into an oligarchy a decade ago. Those amendments are 2 of the 3 foundational corruptions of our Constitution that undermined our republic. Pls check out my analysis here: https://backyardfence.wordpress.com/federalist-letters-to-corporate-ameria/

However, the Senate will be on Arbor Day recess until November 20th, so don’t expect anything to happen over there for awhile...

Well if either of you are waiting to see Lois Lerner fed to the sharks etc. then you've missed entirely the point of the article......this is about Tax Reform that benefits the people.

I'm not going to devote any more "crying tears" into jugs of empty vats about where is Justice...until the swamp is completely cleared that just ain't going to happen.....but worse is few here care to be patient enough for Justice to be served when the hour does come... It's time to focus on how to help our Pres. clear the swamp and quite crying over spilled milk you can do nothing about.

Too many posting like a lynch mob rather than being grateful they’re working at Tax reform Trump has initiated and is on the move forward with.

I could care less about Lois Learner or any of the former Obama heads as there’s not a thing I nor any here can do about that.....leave it with the hands of those who can ..and if miracles still happen we might see justice done down the road.

eanwhile I look forward to seeing how these reforms do go...

I don’t think you have a grasp of what is really going on here, caww.

This isn’t simply a ‘cry for justice’, although that is certainly justified. This is about having all but moved into banana republic status.

consider this: Neither Hillary, Huma, Loretta, Eric, et al, are guilty of one or more of the following: murder, treason, extortion, espionage, blackmail, and maybe several other high crimes and misdemeanors. Barely a peep out of the DOJ or any of the other alphabet agencies who should look to avenge the wrongdoing.

See, when the rule of law doesn’t apply to the elite and/or politically connected but does for the commoners - let’s just say it is a far cry from the republic the Founders gave us.

We can best ‘help our President’ best by doing our part to make sure the rule of law is equally enforced and the Constitution is adhered to.

Simply “moving on” is a fool’s errand, and frankly what got us into the predicament we find ourselves in today.
