Susan Collins: The Senate won't confirm a replacement for Rod Rosenstein who will kill Russia probe
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/15/18 | Kyle Feldscher

Maine Sen. Susan Collins promised the Senate would not confirm a replacement for Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein if that individual would not commit to continuing the Russia investigation.

Collins, R-Maine, said on ABC’s “This Week” that if President Trump fires special counsel Robert Mueller and his boss, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, to end the Russia probe, the Senate won’t allow the investigation to stop.

“Only the deputy attorney general with fire him. That ... investigation is still going to go on,” Collins said. “So, it would not spell the end of the investigation. If a new deputy attorney general were nominated by the president, I cannot imagine the Senate confirming that individual without a clear commitment to appoint a new independent counsel.”

Recess appointment. If the fake Russia collusion investigation stops, it would be hard to re-start.

Trump is being pushed around on all sides. Caving here and there will only hurt him.

I don’t know how all this stuff works but isn’t there such a thing as an acting Deputy AG that could be appointed and kill the regulation calling for the investigation?

Truthfully, I think that the best thing for President Trump to do is fire Rosenstein, appoint an acting replacement, but then *not* fire Mueller.

Mueller is a pest, but Rosenstein is a cancer.

Recess appointment.

Mitch McConnell has been using parliamentary tricks to keep the Senate in session even when they are all on break so Trump cannot make interim appointments. McConnell has been doing this since Trump took office and after the first time the Press has not reported it.

Earth to Collins.

You represent Maine. Period. You are NOT Queen of the Senate.

What you are and always have been is a closet liberal Democrat.

Susan Collins DOES NOT represent We The People.

It’s obvious Liberal John McCain’s voice absence has left a void.

Now more closet Democrats posing as Republicans are having to take up where John McCain left off.

Susan Collins is a Democrat. FACT.

Another one who would vote to convict President Trump. Assume the Democrats win the House (impeachment guaranteed) and the Senate (where 67 votes are needed to convict).

Senate makeup would most likely be 53 Democrat-47 Republican. Add Collins, Murkowski, Romney, Graham, McCain gets you to 58. Cruz and Rubio certainly have scores to settle; up to 60.

Not sure I like the odds against conviction.

They are NOT Republicans.

They are spies. They pose as Republicans in order to sit on Republican meetings. They then share what they’ve learned to Dems and the lying liberal media.

McCain has done the heavy lifting for his Democrat friends for years. Susan Collins on deck, and now has to do the heavy lifting. She’s a joke and a liar.

Someone should inform Senate Dingbat Caucus member Susan Collins (RINO-Maine), that in the event Trump finally gets around to firing DC Swamp Rat Rosenstein that oversight of Mueller’s Russia witch hunt will go to the current, next in line DOJ official below Rosenstein (unless Sessions decides to Un-Recuse), not to Rosenstein’s POTUS appointed successor as Deputy Attorney General!!

If that person wants to stay in Trump’s good graces, he either ends the Mueller probe or at least reigns in Mueller severely and takes away his blank check to investigate anything he feels like!

“She is not seeking re-election...”

_______________________________________

Huh? I live in Maine and this is the first I’ve heard of it!

Collins is up again in 2020.

I can’t stand her....hate her with a passion. The only good thing she did in the last year was vote for Gorsuch and the tax cuts.

Last time she was up for re-election I wrote in the name of a local Republican.

Collins keeps getting re-elected because the RATS always run an obscure moonbat female state senator no one ever heard of.

Collins looks good in comparison (which she is NOT) and she gets re-elected to another six year term as a result.

Not only that— she is dead wrong— because Rosenstein is going to be indicted FIRST then fired. And a result of the indictment will be to shut down mueller’s “investigation”.

YES!

Had heard somewhere she wasn’t.... hmmm. anyway— she’s doubly a moron for supporting the obvious paid clinton dog of mueller. It will not end well for her “analysis” to learn the wide scope of the end of the obamaumao and clinton machinery, all the while she is trying to “prop up” the other “non-resident” Mainers from Kennebunkport— the other dynasty of the uniparty -—the Bushes.

Not gonna happen.

There are eight Republicans up for re=election this year, and 23 democrats. A number of those democrats up for re-election are located in states carried by Donald Trump. Then, there are the two so-called “independents,” Angus King of Maine and Bernie Sanders of Vermont.

Because of that math, I could not envision a Senate 53 - 47 in favor of the RATS.

They are all stupid and senile. Most are power hungry, corrupt to the core (many are treasonous) and most became multi millionaires by bribes, pay to play and other graft and inside trading. I am done wasting my time thinking things will get better. These congress fossils, like judges, stay on until their last breath.
