Roy Cooper for president? 'I'm sure I'll get some calls.'

Could the Democrats' search for a candidate to take on Donald Trump lead them to North Carolina?

Gov. Roy Cooper made it sound as though he thinks he'd be a sought-after candidate — at some point, anyway — during a Politico event at Duke University on Thursday.

Cooper also offered a take or two distancing himself from the Trump administration.

When the event moderator asked Cooper which Democratic candidates should run for the presidency, Cooper replied, "Being the governor of a swing state, I’m sure I'll get some calls."

Cooper pulled the rug out from underneath the Duke Lacrosse frame.

No way the black lives matter crowd would allow him to campaign without a freak show of protestors. As far as any national aspirations go, he’s toast.

state govt call in numbers for various small business services has already started going to hell and with “attitude” by those taking the calls...they are all better than the typical born and bred North Carolinian....you can just tell by their “lip”. And they are the GOVT and never wrong. Wasn’t that way under the previous republican governor. But he wasn’t a great communicator and they (dems) trumped up the gay bathroom (shit) right out of the the 22012 dem convention held in CLT when all the gays move in and took over there. Now with that pocket and the triangle pocket Raleigh, Durham Chapel Hill (Chapel Hill the Liberal cesspool of all that sucks in NC) is turning the state into little DC like VA!! God this place was once a great state and now...

Cooper won because the polls stayed open in Durham County long enough for them to “find” enough votes for him to narrowly beat the incumbent Republican governor, Pat McCrory. The HB2 controversy and the unpopular toll roads in the Charlotte area diminished McCrory's turnout so that the race became close enough for Cooper to steal it. He had been running for governor the entire time (15 years) that he served as Attorney General! He used state funds to make “public service” announcements to get his face and name before the public. So far, he has not been able to do much damage because of the Republican super-majority in the legislature, but the Democrats are trying to change that through legal challenges to the voting districts.

Cooper won by DNC keeping polling places open in Durham for extra hours to facilitate fraud. He was a lousy A G here in NC and is keeping that record as governor.
