Sadly, I believe you are right. And I’m shocked that Jimmuh hasn’t gotten the final call yet as well. I guess the 80’s are over...

You prefer Kitty Dukakis, along with her midget idiot-grinning pretend-tank-driver husband?

Besides, nothing on that list really has anything to do with her role as FLOTUS. She led a personal life that was beyond reproach, fully supported her husband, and exuded class and compassion as our first lady.

She neither ran for office on, nor did she significantly voice any views as first lady about, any positions contrary to a conservative agenda. So now should be the time to gracefully recall her contributions in that role, and not quip over any flawed opinions she expressed after that.

A devoted wife and mother, blessed with a long and important life and happiness in grandchildren. God bless her.

Goodbye, Mrs. Bush.

May you rest In Peace.

Their hands all look so old. Nancy was the youngest, of them all, right?

By all accounts she had a wicked, dry wit and didn’t take all the airs and graces seriously.

Contrast this with the white trash Clintons who never stopped pretending they were silver spooners.

Thanks very much for posting your personal story.

That sounds just like I have imagined her.

Maybe you should relate that to GWB.

God bless.

Wow, I just realized my error. Wasn’t intentional and no disrespect intended but now I’m thinking Freudian slip!

Rest In Peace.

I have no need to say something nasty. It is sad when people lose beloved family members.

I met her at Berings Hardware, years ago, when she was fumbling to find her credit card in her purse. We all wanted to pay her $10 bill, just to get her out of the line.

Very sweet story, hoosiermama.

So very sad how she (BB) turned on Sarah Palin (a great Patriot) and POTUS Trump :(

Its just a damned shame that idiots post garbage on threads like this that require moderator removal.

Yes, but they get to affirm their Christian bona fides and their conservative bona fides, all in one go, by damning somebody to hell. Double their pleasure.

I loved that about her. Down to earth as they come and a people person to boot.

Barbara Bush had no use for the kind of people that post at FR, and she made it pretty clear on a fairly regular basis.

Barbara Bush may have held ideas and positions that disagreed with many of us Deplorables, but she was a dignified, classy person, nonetheless.

Save your vitriol for some other, more appropriate thread.

I remember many things about Barbara Bush.

She took so much $hit from the "media".

Robin Williams made a "joke" about how the First Lady was "already" on the $1 bill.

Paula Poundstone called her a "tank" and had no clue why she was so "revered".

I remember her being interviewed, (probably on CNN) and Ron Silver of all people "respectfully" gave her undeserved crap.

Mrs. Bush may have had some liberal leanings, but when confronted, she said:"I'm not here to discuss that. I'm here to speak for my husband!"

And later, she said the same thing about her son, GWB.

"What I think doesn't really count, I'm here in support of my son."

An awesome lady, I don't care how crummy her hubby is or her son, but she was a stalwart.

I give her my ultimate kudos.

RIP, Mrs. Bush.

You did good in this life.
