On behalf of Fresno State, I extend my deepest condolences to the Bush family on the loss of our former First Lady, Barbara Bush.
We share the deep concerns expressed by others over the personal comments made today by Professor Randa Jarrar, a professor in the English Department at Fresno State. Her statements were made as a private citizen, not as a representative of Fresno State.
Professor Jarrars expressed personal views and commentary are obviously contrary to the core values of our University, which include respect and empathy for individuals with divergent points of view, and a sincere commitment to mutual understanding and progress.

True story: I know someone here in Florida who got called in by their boss earlier this month for suggesting that the inner city culture might need to be changed. This was after some gang bangers shot four kids in a Miami “urban” neighborhood.
The boss said someone complained about an uncomfortable work environment and that it could be considered racist. Was it worth losing a job?
I didn’t know that Inga Barks was fired. She was outstanding filling in for Levin.
She has no private identity
She is a tenured professor and spoke as such implicating the university
Both firings were bundled together in the label of "evolving standards" on talk radio.
