I was driving at the time so I was not able to take a screen capture from my smartphone, but one time when using the Waze app (which monitors traffic, police sightings, etc.) there was a 'police car sighted' icon directly next to a Duncan Donuts store icon (they must pay to advertise in the app).

(Yes, it could easily have been a prank report.)

You really cannot rely on the police to prevent crime unless they are physically present at your location.

Unless you are in a place like Broward county, and the police who ARE physically present are ordered to not interfere while you and yours are being murdered, of course...
