Since they’re building another HQ elsewhere, they’re better off pulling out of Seattle and going to a red state. Besides, the Seattle area is overdue for a large earthquake when the Cascadia fault rips. Better to leave now.

For a number of weeks, it’s been hinted that the new HQ’s would go into the DC-region (maybe DC, maybe Arlington). To me, that defied logic.
I would have gone into Nashville or Dallas.
I would suspect that they are adding up the taxation business and realizing Seattle ought to be just a minor hub, and downsize the operation by half. In a way, the city is doing everything possible to chase companies away.
But the Amazon CEO is a big liberal. So he ought to love paying more taxes.
