No Judges Confirmed This Week (Senate on recess)

Posted on 05/05/2018 5:13:03 AM PDT by cotton1706

This will be a weekly post.

Count remains at 33.

Supposedly, McConnell is going to get six judges confirmed in the coming week.

He needs to get his ass in gear!

Is this a real recess? One where recess appointments can be done? The President can get EVERYBODY in if this is true. Let us see how fast RATs let nominees get a vote once they are already sitting in place!

Cotton, have you heard anything more about the change (that passed the Senate Rules Committee a week or two ago) to reduce the allowed debate time per nominee from 30 hours to only two hours for District Court nominees and 6 hours for Appeals Court nominees? Is McConnell just sitting on that?

The still do pro-forma sessions so it is not an actual recess.

And recess appointments for judges are not a good idea, for their commissions would be for a limited time. Better to have them fully confirmed with lifetime tenure.

Recess? What the hell for? Didn't they just have their Easter vacation? Or are these dopes on perpetual vacation? Is the Turtle sitting out on his deck in his skivvies drinking beer?

What he NEEDS to do, is get rid of the ridiculous 30 hour measure, that the democrats are using to slow walk EVERY single nomination, by only working on each one an hour or two a week, til they’ve finally used up 30 hours! Gee, you’d almost think Mitch McTurdle is aiding and abetting the dirty rats...(I’d be very surprised if he’s not as crooked as, by my guesstimate, about 90% of Congress).

Except when they’ve been working hard to stab POTUS in the back, lick the democrat’s boots, and try to prevent real conservatives from winning primaries.

Having them seated until the Senate votes on them is better than letting Obama stooges running amuck.

If the Senate is really on recess Trump should fire Sessions and make a recess appointment to replace him.
