The White House Announces Its Rescission Package

Washington has a spending problem. The national debt is now more than $21 trillion and the deficit could reach $1 trillion next year.

Through his two budget requests to Congress, President Trump has proposed trillions of dollars in common-sense spending cuts. He has sought to eliminate outdated and ineffective programs across the federal government, ending the debt spiral.

Among the fiscal tools at Mr. Trump’s disposal is Title X of the 1974 Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act. That law gives the president authority to propose rescinding specific funding previously approved by Congress. Because such “rescissions” require Congress to pass new legislation, the law allows the president to freeze these funds for 45 days. Rescissions can be approved with simple majorities in both houses, meaning the Senate can’t block them with a filibuster.

FROM THE WEB PAGE: On Tuesday, President Trump will send Congress a $15.4 billion recissions request, the largest ever using this authority.

$15.4 Billion is A DROP IN THE BUCKET. That isn’t even enough to fund the border wall project. If congress can’t even cut this, we’re doomed.

That’s great. Very rational, very defensible. Who is advising Trump on this? He or she is doing a great job and Trump has the guts to carry it out.

Indeed. I'd love to know who is behind the scenes here; the moves have been exceptionally well planned and paced.

Our former so-called leadership wanted the distruction of the United States. Trump is finally trying to turn that around! I just wish he didn’t have to fight Congress that every turn to do it. But I’m so glad he’s not giving up. A lesser man would have by now.

OK, so the following week, he sends ANOTHER $15B package.

Have his staff propose a rescission each week of some set of indefensible boondoggles. And then have the House and Senate have to go on record.

Here's what SHOULD be the rescission package: the unconstitutional 80% of the alphabet soup of federal departments, agencies, and bureaucracies which are prima facia illegal and corrupt NUKED.

ALL of these unconstitutional, useless, and harmful departments, agencies, and bureaucracies listed below need to be NUKED:

Unconstitutional Cabinet Bureaucracies:
Department of Health and Human Services ($1 TRILLION budget!!!)
Department of Energy
Department of Education
Department of Labor
Department of Agriculture
Department of Commerce
Department of Housing and Urban Development
Department of Transportation

All 67 agencies and bureaucracies of the unconstitutional fourth-branch fiefdom of the Independent Federal Administrative and Regulatory System, including:
EPA
FCC
FTC
SBA (Small Business Administration)

MAGA by RESTORING OUR FREE CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC!

Now if Trump can put some teeth in the Paper Work Reduction Act, that would be another tool for him..................

The largest ever and you still find a way to be negative about it.

Not negative — JUST BEING REALISTIC. History is on my side (unfortunately).

I thought McConnell already nixed this idea, saying he made a deal with the Democrats, and “you don’t go back on an agreement.”
