The daughter of accused woman-beating state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman was dating a man who has been collared twice for assaulting his girlfriends.
Catherine Schneiderman, 25, was engaged to Australian actor-director Matthew Newton, 41, two years ago, and the pair only recently broke up — although they were spotted getting cozy together again in Manhattan last month, the Daily Mail reported.
Newton’s troubled past includes two busts for domestic violence.
While his former girlfriend’s father, AG Schneiderman, has not been arrested, he was accused in an explosive report published Monday of also assaulting his lovers, allegedly hitting and choking them.
Newton, the son of famous Aussie TV hosts Bert and Patti Newton, was first arrested in 2006 for slugging then-girlfriend Brooke Satchwell as she begged him to stop, News.com.au reported.
Matthew Newton was convicted and treated for severe depression by a psychiatrist, who said his disorder was “full-blown” when he attacked — but eventually decided he wasn’t likely to abuse women again.

BACKSTORY Schneiderman's filing 100 lawsuits against Trump should be rigorously scrutinized.
It is entirely possible this guy used the machinery of govt for nefarious purposes.
Schneiderman might have violated several federal laws including but not limited to:
Title 18, United States Code, Section 1001 makes it a crime to: 1) knowingly and willfully; 2) make any materially false, fictitious or fraudulent statement or representation; 3) in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative or judicial branch of the United States.

OBVIOUSLY they all knew about him. The real question is what else will come out...maybe involvement with little girls and little boys, maybe professional misconduct of the type that would invalidate all his convictions and all his work in trying to get Trump overthrown - I don’t know at all, but the reaction to the story by his best allies was way, way, too fast for me to think it just ended at those 4 women.
Do you really believe that Trump was able to convince an ultra liberal author writing for an ultra liberal magazine to get four ultra liberal women to blow the lid on an ultra liberal politician in order to send a message to Muller?
It’s enough that it’s a very significant phenomenon. Witness mass murderers in prison getting deluged with love letters; it’s a real thing and a lot, perhaps most, women do behave this way.
