Philly Election Worker Pleads Guilty To Intimidating Voters; 'You will vote Democrat!'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A North Philadelphia election worker has pleaded guilty to election fraud during a 2017 special election for a state House seat in the city.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says 59-year-old Thurman George, a machine inspector at Poll 43-7, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to frauds by election officers. George, along with three other election workers, was accused of harassment and intimidation against voters who wanted to vote for candidates of their choice, but not the candidate being pushed by the city’s Democratic Party machine.

Minority inspector Calvin Mattox previously pleaded guilty to not meeting the qualifications of election officers for living outside the district in which he was working, while Dolores Shaw, the judge of election at Poll 43-7, received an accelerated rehabilitative disposition for compromising the local election board. A pre-trial conference for Wallace Hill, a bilingual translator, has been scheduled for June 6.

IIRC, those were black panthers in 2008. When Obama took office, he let them off the hook.

So how do you go to vote and have these conversations. Don’t you just go in and vote?

I must be missing something...

“Weren’t those black robed guys with night sticks outside a polling place in Philadelphia?”

Yes and the Obama DOJ’s decision to not prosecute such cases led to AAG Christian Adams resignation.

OK, this is fine but I’m afraid this must like a cockroach infestation - for every one you see and catch, there are probably thousands more you don’t crawling behind the walls.

IIRC, they were convicted, in absentis because they refused to attend their trial, and were then referred to Eric Holder for sentencing. Holder dropped the conviction.

He should be found not guilty, as you can see from the pictures he’s smarter than the average bear and is qualifies to ‘advise’ voters on who to vote for.

The real stupidity is to think that influencing people in Philadelphia to vote Democrat would in any way affect the outcome. Some of those precincts voted 100% for Hillary, and 0% for President Trump. Now that is something they never investigate.

I think that a candidate ran as a write-in candidate, and therefore people who wanted to vote for him couldn’t vote using the voting machines, but had to ask for a special ballot, whereupon they were given a hassle.

You actually located a picture of the Black Panthers intimidating white voters from that earlier time.

It is truly amazing how good FReepers are!

That scene was burned in my memory when I hear hypocrites on CNN say we are wrong to ask for voter ID and proper registration as it “intimidates’ black voters. We have to defend “one man, one vote” after they fought for that in the 1960s.
