I’ve read that opium poppies were grown in 1880s Kansas but it was so labor intensive the attempt was given up.

What’s the big deal? Marijuana is good for you. Isn’t that what everyone is saying? Opium poppies are just a plant. But tobacco is bad, evil even. Who would you rather pilot your plane? A dope smoker or a cigarette smoker? Actually I prefer a good cigar.
