I don't think that's the real reason. The real reason is that Flynn, at the DIA, questioned the Obama administration's public narrative that Al Qaeda was close to defeat.
I also remember they said Sessions LIED when he said he never met a CERTAIN Russian because he was in the same room with the Russian at some kind of convention/meeting.

In the original movie of The Jackal (or the book), there's a scene where the brilliant detective tracking the brilliant assassing after DeGaulle reveals to a high French council that one of them is a right wing spy and conspirator. Could something like that have happened here?
