The NFL released a statement outlining a new anthem policy agreed to in a unanimous vote of league owners at this weeks meetings in Atlanta.
The policy calls for everyone on the field for the song to stand and show respect, but allows for players and other personnel to remain off the field if they choose. It also calls for the league to fine teams whose personnel do not stand and show respect and allows teams to set their own work rules for players who do not stand for the song.
After the NFL released its statement, the NFLPA responded with one of its own.

This is what happens when the owners did not do the right thing at the outset of this thing - disciplining or fire the players immediately - and instead tried to appease them. Now, too late, the owners are “trying to do the right thing,” but the former fans, observing the continued anti-Americanism of the players, will continue to stay AWAY.
If both teams kneel do the 15 yard penalties offset>?
I agree with you, but then I wonder what the players will do because if they were willing to continue this disaster last year after it was clear that damage was being done, why would they accept going to nothing simply by staying in the locker room? You gotta figure they're going to do something else. They seem too committed, almost radicalized, to let it go.

Actually many of the owners are very patriotic and did do the right thing. After the beginning several teams had all their players stand for the anthem.
However, Goodell and the league office promised the players they did not have to stand and could protest however they wanted and nothing would happen to them.
The league gave the players about $100 million for leftist causes to bribe them to stand for the anthem. Then they allowed them to sit, kneel or do whatever they wanted.
I quit watching the NFL after the infamous “wardrobe malfunction”. I even sent them an email telling them where they could shove their pigskin.
My Sundays have been fabulous ever since.
This seemed a decent compromise. I guess the players union wants to see the fan base drop further.
If both teams kneel they play the game in the parking lot. Who knows? LOL.
Didn’t the NFL pay a ransom of $100 million to these guys? See, it’s NEVER enough. It’s never over. It’s only over when the object/person/organization is completely destroyed. It the social justice warrior way.
They have one more foot to shoot.
I love it when stupid people make bad choices and expect others care.
Wonder where the sponsors are in this.
Directv lost money last year when they allowed people to cancel their NFL ticket.
A lot of people canceled it.
Collective Bargaining Agreement
Popcorn GIF time ... LOL !!!
the millions to the SJW groups is enough for me to stay away.
I will not fund them directly or indirectly.
I wonder what the actual monetary damage this has done to the league, sports media outlets such as ESPN and sadly the little guy who has the bar or restaurant people used to visit before or after the game.
They might be, but they’ve filed a lot of law suits against the NFL in the past, and won. They’ve won on issues like free agency and salary caps.
The thing is, both sides - the players and owners - may have legal battles from time to time, but that’s small potatoes. Neither side wants to change the status quo because they both benefit. The problem is the consumer has little say or ability to influence the product to his or her liking, because they’re the only source for the product. Aside from boycotting the product, there are few options.
In a normal free market, people have many options for the same product. If one supplier disappoints, overcharges, gives bad service, is rude, or in some other way underperforms for the consumer, he or she can easily find another source fore the product. With professional sports, there are fewer options in that regard.
What part of while being employed by and paid by the company, you follow our rules is hard for these prima donnas to understand. Not all of them will retire millionaires, and they are in for a rude awakening in the real world.
I suspect that this gravy train is on its way to a 50-car burning, toxic hazmat derailment. And just wait until the next TV contract negotiations.
Beseball is in better shape because a good number of their players from Central America probably wake up every day thanking God that they get paid fabulous money playing a game they would probably play for free. And, due to the Black Sox scandal almost 100 years ago, the Comissioner has broad, sweeping powers on matters such as this that neither the Union or owners can do anything about short of firing him.
The players may have "won" concessions on free agency, but the imposition of the salary cap means a lot of players don't earn much more than the league minimum.
The owners arent trying to do the right thing. Read goodalls statement. Theyre still taking your money and spending it on anti-American “Social Justice” programs. Piss on em all.
A Union supporting anti-American activities. Who saw that coming? EVERYBODY!
Will continue to not watch until NFC/AFC championships and SuperBowl.
