In John Kerry’s mind, he has NEVER done anything wrong. From false testimony during Vietnam, to the terrible Iran deal ol’ John is a stand up guy (in his own mind). Why, he once huffily said, when confronted with falling down, while windsurfing (I don’t fall down.” What a putz!

Willie Horton.

A “couple”.

He RAPED the one, then CASTRATED the other.

“Terrorized” is not the adjective I would use in this instance.

He could have declined the appointment.

This story is shocking to me. Who ever knew that Kerry had a job outside of government?

No true bio will be written about Kerry in our lifetime.

He was CIA (or other intelligence agency) infiltrating the Vietnam Veterans against the War. He was clearly an agent provocateur. His lies to Congress in the 1960s were hilarious—and they never tried to indict him for perjury.

If you met him and spent a few minutes talking to him you would know.

(I know the guy—it is obvious.)

funny, I remember this extremely well. I was a grad student at another Ivy League school (not Harvard..) and I was in the Gardner Museum the week before. I spent a lot of time looking at Rembrandt’s Sea of Galilee.

I often see that piece in art books, books about Rembrandt, etc. I often sigh when I see it, thinking, yeah, that one is now gone from the public.

And...in an episode of Blacklist, Raymond Reddington actually moves it around a bit. It was a nice touch by the writers/producers. I got to tell my wife the whole story (again) when I saw that episode. :)

I read it all. Before the last paragraph it occurred to me that one or more of those pics was probably on a wall in a locked room at on of the Kerry/Heinz estates. Then I read that he said they are not on his wall. I bet one ore more hangs on his wall.

It took them 25 years to name names over an art theft. How long will it take them to name names over Russia, Russia, Russia?

Kerry is so skinny that when he gets to hell he’ll burn like a match compared to the current grease flamethrower of Ted Kennedy and sooner than later, Hillary. LOL!!!

You win post of the day!!!

BOSTON – The FBI has positively identified the two robbers who in 1990 committed the largest art heist in history, stealing over $500 million worth of masterpieces from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum here.

Both thieves were dead within a year of their breathtaking crime. DiMuzio was murdered in a gangland hit and Reissfelder died of a drug overdose that some investigators consider suspicious.

...

Reminds me of Goodfellas. Easy money led to the ruin of everybody.

So John Kerry, famous for looking down the barrel of his rifle during his war fighting days, actually was competent at something.

“The idea that there are billionaires who buy paintings and hide them is a myth. The point of having trophy possessions like that is to show them off.”

Well, people obviously steal art, so what happens to it?

Thanks bitt. If I recall correctly, this heist was featured in an episode of "Unsolved Mysteries" right after it happened. It wouldn't surprise me if it was some kind of insurance scam, and it's pretty much the only reason most people have ever heard of the museum. Some of the (permanently?) lost works have been returned to exhibition via augmented reality, the 21st century's best have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too contribution to life on Earth. Imagine now, holograms of works of ancient works, sculptures, statues, bas relief inscriptions, avaiilable in an endless rotation, in every museum in the world...

I find this hard to believe.

John Kerry had a payday that didn't involve being a gigolo or a politician?
