Brennan's tweet the other day calling out McConnell and Ryan was a veiled threat. Brennan has stated that he personally briefed each member of the Gang of Eight on "the Russia investigation" (in other words, the spying on Trump?) during 2016.
If Nunes and Gowdy kick over this anthill, Brennan is taking everyone down with him.

I remember they were trying to get the entire GOP establishment to agree to boycott the Trump campaign at the very time Sam Clovis was trying to recruit some big-name foreign policy advisors into the Trump campaign. Clovis ended up with Page, Papadopoulos et al.
