At least four police vans responded to the march as it made its way through Leeds.
Many supporters brandished "Free Tommy" placards and demonstrators chanted "let Tommy out" at police officers.
The march was organised by the group Proud British, which says on Facebook that its purpose is to "voice freedom of speech" and "stop the strain on the NHS, schools and our public services."
One supporter of Robinson told a reporter: "Journalist? F*** off — you're all scum".
Some protestors were heard making racist chants.
Crowds chanted "BBC BBC" in protest at what they see as the corporation's bias against Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley Lennon.
The throng gathered at 34 Boar Lane, where police used force to stop one man.
Supporters have said there is a "price on Robinson's head" as he prepares for his 13-month sentence in HMP Hull.

Get a load of that guy on the front left of that picture (the second from the left). He’s got on a Johnny Cash shirt, a chain, and a bandana around his head-lol. He’d fit right in here in America’s biker subculture. This guy knows which way is up. Love it!
Further proof that when the S.H.T.F. I’d rather be with the bikers as anyone else. They will help you when the cops are “doing their jobs” and shooting at you.
Racist chant: “If Tommy Robinson was a Muslim he wouldn’t be in Jail!”
And of course they don’t mention just what those racist chants were. They pull the same garbage here, the left has absolutely no argument against common sense so they resort to calling everything racist.
Because the left is so pure, y’know. Not a scintilla of racism amongst them.

It is CLAIMED that some protesters were ALLEGEDLY heard making ALLEGEDLY racist chants.
What if they were. Some Muslim protesters have been heard chanting “Kill the Jooos!” but if you publicize it, you’re a threat to the peace in England and you get arrested. I’d be surprised if, with a double standard like that, there were no racist chants at any protest ever. The government is discrediting tolerance, then blaming some hapless yobs for their reactions.
Possible racist chant in England might be “Muslims go home”,
“illegals aren’t wanted here”; “no falafel for me”; “no go zones go away”
