Adding to the uncertainty is European anger over Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the international nuclear agreement with Iran. European allies have urged Trump to reconsider.~~~~~~~~~~~I wonder why this Iran deal is so important to them...

“I think they will express their concern, probably more individually than as a group, quietly,” said James Blanchard, a former U.S. ambassador to Canada for former President Bill Clinton. “I don’t think anybody is going to confront him.”~~~~~~~~~~~Intimidated a little?

Trump wants to negotiate a deal where everyone comes out ahead.

The Globalists want to negotiate a deal where the US loses.

I expect more winning.

California’s economy is bigger than France, and NY’s is bigger than Canada. The G7 is going to have to come to terms with the fact that the game can no longer be rigged. It was unsustainable, and Trump is ultimately going to do them a favor here.

“Battered by Trump, G7 leaders choose to be ‘polite,’ productive”

Good choice.

It’s strange the Trump does not want to go to the G7 meeting and that White House staff don’t expect him to sign the communique.

You’d think he’d be eager to share his detailed knowledge of international trade policy with them, since it occupies so much of his time and attention.

In the late 80’s and early 90’s Japan was dumping their cheap steel on our market with fake paper work saying that the steel was of the correct heat and chemistry. so we had all sorts of problems mainly with bolts and other fasteners.

There were grade 8 bolts that did not meet grade 5 standards that wound up on our military, automotive and aircraft industries inventories, that were failing and endangering people and equipment. It took years and untold amounts of money to clear and replace all that inventory.

Now China is doing a repeat. So we put a tariff on their steel so they do an end-run. By dumping their steel in Canada, Mexico and the EU redoing the paperwork and shipping it to US as if it comes from the middlemen.

“We must not fall apart. The six other nations of the G7 represent a market that is larger than the American market,” Macron said.

It sounds like the six other nations don't really need the American market.

If so, what's the worry about tariffs, Macron? Just trade with each other.

Polite and productive would seem a better choice than those being made by a certain former citizen of East Germany.

In a bid to rebuild America’s industry, Trump has imposed hefty tariffs on steel and aluminum imports...

I guess "In a bid to close the over $560,000,000,000 trade deficit, Trump has imposed..." just didn't have the same ring to it.

Good! Then you won’t be missing your sales to the US! The fact of the matter is if we discontinue our foreign aid, NATO funding, UN financial support, all of you are screwed! Macron is French for “little faggot!”

But rather than seek a fight with Trump at the summit, French President Emmanuel Macron made an appeal for productive discussion.

They can pick a fight, or be productive, or renegotiate deals so that America isn't on the losing end - up to them.
