In the 2002 midterms, GWB picked up 8 House and 2 Senate seats.

In 1998, BJ Clinton gained 5 House seats and the Senate was a wash.

No other Republican president has worked so hard so early for the mid-term elections. Nixon didn’t do much until September 1970, and it was inadequate. Reagan didn’t have much success in 1982 except in CA Senate and governor’s races. But can Trump get the stand-patters out to the polls? GWB had a good result in 2002, but I don’t recall how much he was responsible for that.

Somewhere back in the past the Rats were touting “It’s the economy, stupid.”.

Well Trump seems to be fixing economical things for the Middle Class and is not kowtowing to the ruling elite.

It’s refreshing!

The GOP could end up with as many as 60 Senators

Hehe! McConnell will need a larger Depends.

Let’s not forget, Democrat voter fraud will be rampant. Libs prove every day that they have no morality. Everything they do politically, economically is irresponsible and immoral.

Very Pollyanaish sounding article, especially in light of recent polling.

The problem that remains is in spite of all his successes, Trumps disapproval ratings are very high. When the POTUS is unpopular his party performs badly in the midterms.

I argued after Trump won, the biggest problem Trump would be is the damage 0bama cause is deep and irrepairable, to both the nation and idiology of the majority of American voters.

We are seeing that now. Despite his success in keeping this sinking ship somewhat afloat, Americans have become so accustomed and supportive of the Socialism and identity politics of the 0bama administration, a free enterprise, non globalist, non PC natioanlist like Trump is impossible for them to take now. I think 2012 was the year we became a truly Socialist majority nation
