The Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles is going to offer the option of a gender-neutral designation on driver licenses and identification cards.
EqualityMaine said Maine becomes at least the third state to adopt such a policy, after Oregon and California, along with the District of Columbia. The move comes as a result of a complaint filed by EqualityMaine’s board president.

As long as the driver’s sex is listed, I don’t care what else a state adds. But if sex is NOT listed, that license better not be used to establish ID or board a plane.

A driver’s license is a form of identification. Leaving off a major component from the license will cause problems in the future.
A question that will need to be answered at some point in the future is why it is allowed a small minority can dictate societal changes without the consent of the majority?
Call me unenlightened,but if someone doesn’t know if they’re a man or a woman,they probably don’t belong behind the wheel in the first place!
Airlines and truck rental firms should not accept Maine driver’s licenses as a form of ID. If they do, and some malefactor takes advantage of the state’s stupidity to harm people, God help those businesses...
Denial of science and nature is not ‘equality.’
Driver’s licenses and identification cards do not confer any status - they reflect it for use in the event of accidents, crimes, etc.
