“He laid out the potential future for N Korea, depending on how they will act in the future.”

.................................

AND ... he released that brilliant vid immediately, which is now spreading like wildfire over social media and the internet. So by doing that, he put Kim into a box - either he plays along and become a hero leading his people to peace and prosperity, or the whole world will view him as a fool that chose instead to keep his country isolated and in poverty. Of course, on the remote chance he chooses the latter, he also needs to consider that his life of shame may be short lived once Trump uses the military option to get rid of his nukes.

He has a terrible tiger by the tail. Protected exile might be the only choice. If he has children while in exile, one of them might be a reasonable future political figure in North Korea — FAR future.

Does anybody have the document to really know? Though I imagine that it’s some conditional concessions and visionary proposals.

The acid test is going to be what happens to relieve the pressure of much of North Korea hating Kim’s guts, really hating them. Will Kim in essence declare a jubilee in North Korea? Hoping that the rejoicing will drown out the grievances? He’d still be wise to have a bug-out exile plan if he does. Maybe Donald Trump offered him one.

A consensus among Wapo and NYT “journalists.”

Sorry WP, but the only people dismissing it are the MSM and Trump haters. Anyone else with a brain capable of rational thinking knows what is happening and has happened.

The author of the article surely overestimates the time it would take Kim to get rid of his entire nuclear program should he actually decide that it’s in his interest to do so.

And that’s really the point, right? To convince Kim to go a completely different direction than North Korea has been on for decades now. If he can’t be convinced of that, we remain at status quo, with sanctions in place, military exercises back on, Trump destroying Kim’s reputation with tweets, and option two (take out his nukes.)

But if Kim truly wants to change, that change could happen extremely fast, so long as he was given the personal assurance that he would need to survive the changes he would be allowing to be introduced to his country.

President Trump has dealt with the equivalent of despots all his business career. We just call them corrupt politicians, not despots. He knows that eventually many of them end up paying for their corruption, but until they do, he had to deal with them to achieve his own goals. Kim might someday be hung by his own people, or he might have statues erected by those same people for being the leader who shepherded his country into prosperity, finally. Both endings could be deserved. Which one awaits him, if either, is unknown.

But for now, liberals, the media, and NeverTrumpers will continue to bet against President Trump despite having lost bet after bet after bet since he announced his run for president.

War games are a show of force and are meant to be provocative. Suspending them is the same as offering an olive branch. I think it’s a brilliant move.

Yeah. That’s where I’m at. Trump is brilliant at giving up something that is important to his opponent but doesn’t matter to him. Art of the deal.

Trump is seducing Kim Jong il. He’s given a meaningless concession — mainly stopping the scheduled war game which all the anti-trumpers desperately cling to this idea that Trumps been played by Kim. The truth will come where the rubber hits the road and if they try and play Trump, then he’ll do an about face and walk away very steamed.

These are the people who went around saying the Iran deal was the best thing ever, and they are saying Trump gives away too much to NK?

“Trump gave away NOTHING!!!”

Exactly right. Some feel-good photos to let the NORK leader feel like he is a high level international player; a vision of a prosperous NORK; ending war exercises that can be resumed at the drop of a hat. Just WHAT was “given away”? Much ado about nothing.

“A consensus seems to be emerging in much of Washington that President Trump gave away too much and got too little in his summit meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un”

a total lie, the one the leftist fake stream media has settled on to attack trump with. we here all know the only thing trump “gave Up: was to postpone joint military exercises with South Korea as long as Kim Jong Un keeps doing the things he said he would do. that’s it.

in return, we get hostages returned, Korea War remain repatriated, nuclear test sites redtroyed and rocket testing sites destroyed ... and that’s just for starters ...

Trump could singlehandedly cure cancer and the left would complain: what about the common cold? There’s no winning with then, they’ve removed any reason to try.

“I can’t see any viable system not involve an exile for Kim and his men. North Korea has excellent reason to loathe him.”

that’s a valid point ... gonna be interesting to see how that works out ...

Trump found a world leader with a worse haircur than his, and spun that fat little commie around in his waterproof black smock.

Clinton gave away billions and centrifuges in exchange for not a damn thing.

Trump has gotten hostage releases, destruction of a nuclear testing facility, and a promise (for what its worth) of denuclearization, for nothing more than a photo op and a qualified promise of some McDonald's. No verification, no Big Mac, Fatboy.

Plus, he saved us money by cancelling those expense military excercises with SK, that we were only doing to scare him into negotiations.

It's been all gravy for the US and our media knows it. They just know that the way things are going right now, the blue wave is growing bigger but changing color.
