Angela Merkels government is on the brink as the German chancellor battles her coalition partners on immigration and asylum seekers.
The coalition between Merkels Christian Democrats (CDU) and the Bavarian Christian Social Union (CSU) has fractured over the latters new proposed policy that would turn away more asylum seekers at the countrys borders.

CSU needs to break from CDU and become an independent party. It will do well. CDU and SPD can merge instead. They have basically the same platform anyway.
