Angela Merkel’s government is on the brink as the German chancellor battles her coalition partners on immigration and asylum seekers.
The coalition between Merkel’s Christian Democrats (CDU) and the Bavarian Christian Social Union (CSU) has fractured over the latter’s new proposed policy that would turn away more asylum seekers at the country’s borders.

Given how entrenched the establishment is in the media, university professors, most CEOs and the all important bureaucracy as well as all major political parties in Germany, I’m not the least bit surprised.
CSU needs to break from CDU and become an independent party. It will do well. CDU and SPD can merge instead. They have basically the same platform anyway.
