James Hansen wishes he wasn't so right about global warming
Associated Press ^ | 18 June 2018 | SETH BORENSTEIN

Posted on 06/18/2018 6:33:51 AM PDT by Magnatron

James Hansen wishes he was wrong. He wasn't.

NASA's top climate scientist in 1988, Hansen warned the world on a record hot June day 30 years ago that global warming was here and worsening. In a scientific study that came out a couple months later, he even forecast how warm it would get, depending on emissions of heat-trapping gases.

The hotter world that Hansen envisioned in 1988 has pretty much come true so far, more or less. Three decades later, most climate scientists interviewed rave about the accuracy of Hansen's predictions given the technology of the time.

Hansen won't say, "I told you so."

"I don't want to be right in that sense," Hansen told The Associated Press, in an interview is his New York penthouse apartment. That's because being right means the world is warming at an unprecedented pace and ice sheets in Antarctica and Greenland are melting.

Hansen said what he really wishes happened is "that the warning be heeded and actions be taken."

They weren't. Hansen, now 77, regrets not being "able to make this story clear enough for the public."

So sad that the world has to be warned that James Hansen is environmentally ill

Look, Mars is warming. Jupiter is warming. The moons of Saturn are warming. Pluto is warming. The whole solar system is at risk. We’ve got to do something before its too late!!

He is in the process of proving that they have shredded data, changed data, hid data, invented data, cherry-picked data, and got people fired for noticing.

Hansen, how come the the actual temperatures are not what the models predicted?

Um, I think it was due to his Soros-paid media training while he worked for NASA.

He had to be forced to release the raw data from the government temperature stations, and the complete lack of audits to verify that the stations were in compliance.

Checks revealed that many of them were compromised, unintentionally, by companies putting up asphalt parking lots around them, venting hot air ducts installed in the vicinity, and new buildings nearby giving off heat during the night and obstructing air flow.

Hansen said what he really wishes happened is "that the warning be heeded and actions be taken."

Free market prices take into account the needs of the future and regulate the use, supply, and consumption of resources better than government interventionism. Government interventionism sacrifices the present to the future causing a decrease in the productivity of labor, which decreases economic progress, which decreases prosperity.

Al Gore told me I would never see snow again.

Last year we were trapped in the house for 10 days by 18” of global warming.

What accuracy? We’re headed into a mini ice age

Where’s the Hoebbels picture when we need it?

When Siberia starts becoming the world's wheat field and coastal real estate prices start plunging, we will know that Hansen is right.

For the foreseeable future, Siberia will continue to depopulate and coastal real estate prices will continue to increase.

Hansen won't say, "I told you so." But that seems to be the entire point of this article. Do these people ever tell the truth?

Before reading any article, I look at the source. In this case, the author is Seth Borenstein.

He's probably the most well known Marxist propagandist in the man-made global-warming stable. Whenever you see his name as author, gird yourself to read fact-free unadulterated Marxist propaganda.

that the warning be heeded and actions be taken

Heeding the warning is fine but creating actions that only serve the warning become the problem.

Actions taken with zero evidence to support the claim that man causes the problem is folly.

If you truly wish to amuse God tell him of your plans.

Hansen has been thoroughly discredited.

His “Hocky stick” graph was and is bogus.

Minor point: The hockey stick graph was produced by one Professor Michael Mann, of Penn State. It is Michael Mann who was hassling Mark Steyn in the Canadian court system.

He’s not... Didn’t Mark Steyn prove this in court?

Steyn was sued for libel, and he wants his day in court, and Dr. Fraudpants Mann is doing all he can to avoid discovery, and avoiding the trial. Mann likes to play Genghis Khan, hoping the mere threat of brutal legal force would result in non-violent submission. He messed with the wrong man with Mark Steyn. National Review was sued at the same time, and they mainly played legalistic paper-moving games, and is not cooperating with Steyn.

That he has a penthouse apartment in NYC is prima facie evidence of having accepted bribes.

I would encourage anyone who believes that humans are in some form or another responsible for “Global warming” or “Climate Change” to take the time and make and effort to read “Velikovsky & 3600 signature” as well as “The real cause of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions” It appears that we are coming up on these two events which coincidental appear to run concurrent at least for a certain length of time, and easily could account for climate change one way or another. If anything, should the Grand Solar Minimum be the dominant event, at least for time being, the greater concern should be global cooling.

No doubt that humans contribute some to global warming but these amounts are insignificant to cause any climate change as they pale in comparison what frequent volcanic eruptions put in to the atmosphere. Whatever the trigger may be for Velikovsky’s 3600 year signature event, which appears to be a repetitive event, its effects were not lost at the time at the then Pharaoh of ancient Egypt, eventually precipitating the release of the Israelis from bondage, an event which found its way into the annals of history and being recorded as the “Exodus”

It just so happens that once again we seem to be coming up on the anniversary of this 3600 year event and along with it by coincident on another Grand Solar Minimum which brings along with it earthquakes as well as volcanic eruptions which appear to be more than plentiful, backed up by statistics. This along with ever more crazy weather patterns, from way too hot in one area or unseasonably cold in another. This along with flooding in some areas and draughts in others, as well as one season running into another.

If this was not enough chances appear better than good that once again after a long time most likely we are heading into another “Grand Solar Minimum” For these two events to run concurrent appears to be coincidental, never the less acting together their impact could produce a double whammy with very undesirable and destructive results.

Time and space does not permit to go into too many details, but for anyone interested, plenty of information may be found on the internet. Needless to say more than enough misinformation may also be found as some people are pretty gullible when it comes to doomsday scenarios and a person needs to use common sense to separate facts from fiction.

No doubt that what you just have read may cause some people to shake their heads and smile. I for one hope that mankind may get lucky again, and some of the predictions will not materialize as if they would come true it quickly would wipe the smile off peoples faces. I for one hope to be dead wrong and none of the predictions will come to pass. But only time will tell.
