On Dan Bongino's podcast yesterday (6/19/2018) he discussed a subject that I have been pondering for some time: Why does the FBI seem to be so top heavy with Leftists?
Mueller is a Leftist. Comey, the #1, is a Leftist. McCabe, the #2 is a Leftist. (Priestap I don't know about.) Strzok (Lead agent in both the Hillary Email Scandal and the Russian Collaboration Investigation!!!!) is a Leftist. And so on. I included Mueller for obvious reasons, though not in the FBI when all this went down.
That is a high powered cabal of Leftists...why are there so many? I had always thought that any law enforcement or military arm found in America would be more conservative than leftist, but this is clearly a faulty assumption on my part, at least as it relates to the FBI.
Dan Bongino discusses this in his podcast yesterday, and I found it an interesting analysis. His opinion carried weight with me due to his past experience as a beat cop in the NYPD (in Brooklyn, IIRC) and as an investigator and agent in the Secret Service where he had to interact with everyone from foreign security/police entities (running the Secret Service advance team for Bush and Obama travels) to DHS, all the way down to local police departments. His interaction is broad, so I was interested to hear his take.
He said, in essence (I have to paraphrase, I have no transcript) that he guessed the Secret Service was roughly 90% conservative leaning, and his experience with city police was that he found them to be conservative by large margins, even in precincts with large minority police populations. In his view, police on the street see first hand the havoc and destruction caused by Leftist policies, so they tend to be more conservative.
By contrast, he guessed (and was careful to stress that it was only an unscientific rough estimate in all cases) that the FBI, from his personal interactions with agents at all levels, was around 60% conservative leaning.
I found this to be an interesting observation.
His rationale was that cops and military tend to be more black and white about situations and issues, rather than seeing them as a nuanced spectrum of grays. That makes sense to me, since if I were a cop or military, it seems you would be in situations where a rapid analysis and action is not only necessary, but critical for survival and success. Since the Secret Service generally recruits people in a general role sense (not usually specialists who fill a single or limited role, but someone who could fulfill a variety of roles as needed by a mission or task) the Secret Service looks to applicants from the police and military ranks. As such, they tend to be very conservative.
In contrast, he said the FBI recruits people in a very different way. The FBI is involved with a lot of white collar and technical crime, and so they recruit their agents from a different pool...they actively recruit lawyers and accountants, because those are the type of people needed for their investigations. They have to be comfortable in those waters...corporate environments, computer systems, account ledgers, and such.
They tried this with Reagan too. Big Failure. Then came the Bushes and Obama.
Senator Joe McCarthy was 100% right but even the republicans vilified him all the way up to Eisenhower.
That's one funny post right there. lol I have to disagree though, Obozo had a long history of hangin with commies.
But McCain and Will, a LONG time ago, had some Conservative values. Yes, a LONG time ago. But, ASFAIKT, none of those listed were ever Conservative. That being said, a boatload of Republicans are no longer even remotely Conservative, like Will and McCain. No Conservative values at all.
Why is the FBI top heavy with Leftists?
Stupidest question of the day. After 8 years of the worst president in American history, Obumbo, its a wonder that most of them aren’t card carrying communists.
Conservatives tend to seek balance in life. We work hard but are satisfied with moderate success. If we are making a contribution to society with our work and earning enough to provide for our family, that is usually enough. We also want to spend time with our families, pursue a variety of interests, and also have a spiritual life.
Leftists are usually driven by the single-minded pursuit of power and status. They take on every extra assignment no matter how pointless, work every evening they are asked to, stay until the very end of every meeting, no matter how meaningless, and then hang around afterwards to network.
As a result, leftists tend to rise to the top of organizations, particularly organizations where advancement is based on networking, visibility and perceived loyalty to the organization, rather than objective measures of performance.
This applies to government and corporate bureaucracies, entertainment, media and volunteer organizations. And it applies from the local to the national level.
In the last few years, we’ve learned how pervasive the expectation has been in Hollywood that young performers will perform sexual favors for people in positions of power. Is it any wonder that today’s “stars” are all leftists? People with moral standards all left to pursue other careers early on, when it became apparent what the expectations were.
My wife worked in professional theater until her late 20s. She was in technical production rather than acting. There were no sexual expectations, but for the 3-4 weeks before a show opened, the expectations were that they would work until midnight or 1am 7 days a week and then go out drinking for another 2 hours with the rest of the production crew. She ultimately decided she’d rather start a family and be a mom. The people who are designing costumes for shows on Broadway today are less talented than her, but were willing to spend their lives working and drinking until 3 am for weeks at a time.
15 years ago, when my kids were young, I was on the Board of Elders for the Presbyterian church that I belonged to at the time. The meetings were on Sunday nights. When an issue came up that had political implications (e.g,, let’s only serve “Fair Trade” coffee during the social time after church, the liberals were willing to debate the issue until 9, 9:30, or 10pm, however long it took. Myself and the other more conservative members would look at our watches and know we had to get home to help our spouses get the kids into bed. The liberals were either childless or thought that the correct brand of coffee was more important than parenting. More often than not, the liberal viewpoint would prevail.
This process repeats itself in every bureaucracy, giving us Comey, Mueller and McCabe.
Thirty plus years ago an FBI agent told me that the country was being turned to socialism.
“The FBI was purged by the Clintons when Bill took office. I was working in DC for the government. We all were shocked to see that GS-14 level FBI agents were being fired by the Clintons and replaced with their own people.
Subsequent Republican administrations did not do likewise, but left all of the Clinton agents in place.
The Bush administrations did not purge beyond the political appointment level.”
I remember when billy boy took office he went through the government like the speed of lightening and got rid of anyone who fit his criteria, example, all federal judges were replaced by his people.
Yep, G. W. Bush didn’t want to upset anyone and I read that during the 2016 election cycle he referred to hillary “like a sister.” Isn’t that sweet? Barf. Not to mention that Barbara bush considered Billy boy “like a son”. I have no respect for the bushes, period.
I worked for the FBI as a contractor for a 1 1/2. There are many educated idiots. They are many who do not understand a computer past a keyboard and a mouse. They all are looking over their shoulder for the supervisor watching them. They do not trust contractors but history proves the problems have been internal. They are good investages but as we know those skills are controlled. There are conservatives but they fear speaking up on issues.
A good friend explained to me a couple of years ago that the FBI has for a few years required a 4-yr degree for all entrants. So no more street savvy types such as you might still get in local LEO. Now, take into account that the majority of those degrees will be Law or Criminal Justice and consider the schools that provide such and you get the idea. McCabe is Duke for instance.
Because they know not to investigate liberals no matter what. That includes pedophiles, drig dealers, rapists.
Their hatred has nothing to do with holding ‘conservative beliefs’... or not holding conservative beliefs. That’s a liberal argument that some idiots in our party bought into because they’re stupid...
It’s plain and simply hatred of Donald Trump and the working people of this country.

Anecdotal, but I have found in my 73 years that a high percentage of both state and government employees to be liberals/progressives.
After all, their daily bread comes from the government. A government that is quite happy with slothfulness, laziness, poor quality of work and that cannot fire anyone. Most could never survive in non-gov jobs.
All gov. workers who are not in this category, I am sorry for stating this, but it is true. A generalization - but a valid one.

For sure fed employees are way tilted left. I bet most folks really have no idea how tilted. Don’t know their methodology but I wouldn’t be shocked if this is legit:

I had a 25 year career in DOJ, retiring in 1996. There were many fellow vet co-workers. Among them were a survivor of the Bataan Death March, a D Day landing 2nd Lt., a huge man who lost his leg at Anzio, a crewman from the USS Arkansas, and so on. Ironically, at one point we had an internment camp nisei Japanese boss. Collectively, these men did not suffer fools gladly. I don’t think modern day federal employees for the most part would have a clue about any of this. Yes, we were conservative...even the women much more so.
Once a leftist FBI Director is appointed, he's good for 10 years to hire like-minded people. Those people hire more people who then move up the ranks to become the candidates for future appointments. It becomes a self-sustaining loop.
