rney in case Trump pursues legal action against him for the prank.
You would think that the last thing Mr. Trump would want to do right now is go after some comedian that punked him, Avenatti tweeted Saturday. That would permit inquiry by John into the buffoonery that allowed it to happen. Admit you are an amateur and focus on reuniting the children you separated.
The lawyer added in a second tweet, Once again, Mr. Trump has made the U.S. the brunt of jokes and brought embarrassment to what we are all about as a nation.
Melendez claims he reached the president by leaving his cellphone number with the White House switchboard and fooling aides including the presidents son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
This is how easy it is to infiltrate the administration, the funnyman said in his podcast of the Wednesday night hoax.
He was unable to reach the president at first when he called the White House switchboard, but after identifying himself as the pols assistant, he eventually got a call back, he said.
Hi, Bob. How are you? Congratulations on everything, were proud of you. Congratulations, youre doing a great job, Trump is heard saying to the man he purportedly thought was the New Jersey Democrat.
I was just pulling a prank, he told The Post.

Melendez said any criticism from Trump would be hypocritical since he also posed as someone else in the past: as a media spokesman named John Miller who bragged about himself, The Washington Post reported.
He believes the Secret Service visit is a sign the presidential prank angered Trump.
Its kind of hypocritical for him to be so livid about a
comedy bit, he said, adding, I really had no idea that there could be legal ramifications.
I didn't know it was a crime. Whoa as me.
He thought he would get all the cursing , swearing and ignorance like he would calling a Demonut ,but surprise
I got home and two kids who are my neighbors were saying, Hey there were two guys in suits claiming they were from the Secret Service knocking at your door, said Melendez exclusively told The Post Saturday. They showed the kids their badges.
He said he hid inside his house around 11 p.m. when someone knocked again, assuming it was Secret Service making a second visit.
The radio personality reached President Trump on Air Force One by impersonating New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez, and recorded the Wednesday exchange for his podcast.
Now, he says, hes nervous.
Im looking out my door every minute and Im getting different attorneys, he said over the phone from his California home.
Infantile children...
Calling Stuttering John a comedian is a bit of a stretch...
I don’t see a crime. It is kinda funny that he got a call from POTUS.
Somebody will roll for it maybe but the President needs a sense of humor on this one.
I would hope so.
Trump said nothing during the call that reflects badly on him.
Stuttering John did falsely claimed to be another person (Bob Menendez).
Is it legal to make a phone call and claim to be another person? Or only if it’s in conjunction with a “real” crime, e.g, some kind of fraud? I don’t know.
But nothing else happened here except for Stuttering John making a phone call under a false identity.
Maybe the Secret Service just wants to know how he got the phone number.
Impersonating a Senator in order to get something of value (ie: a phone call from The President) may indeed be a crime.
Howard Stern would give stuttering John Melendez a segment where he would call him “Hero Of The Stupid”
He had to know that impersonating a Senator to get to the President was a crime. He may be a jerk...but he’s not a dumb jerk.
I would suggest the President get a Mr. Snerdley.
It's a crime to impersonate anyone.
Whoever falsely assumes or pretends to be an officer or employee acting under the authority of the United States or any department,
agency or officer thereof, and acts as such, or in such pretended character demands or obtains any
money, paper, document, or thing of value,
shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both
>>He said he hid inside his house around 11 p.m. when someone knocked again, assuming it was Secret Service making a second visit.
So his family sheltered him from questioning and lied to the Secret Service?
Identity theft is no crime, none of the illegal immigrants would be out of jail if it was.
Not so funny now, is it?

I have not been arrested yet & have returned home. My legal team says that I'll be okay.
