On Friday evening there was a story at Politico which didnt seem to gain much traction, what with all of the Trump activity going on. Congressman Elija Cummings (D-Md) is the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee and hes demanding that committee chair Trey Gowdy issue a subpoena to the EPA over their handling of both FOIA submissions and requests from Congress for documents, saying that Scott Pruitts administration was screening requests based on political sensitivity. (More background coverage available at Government Executive.) These were all part of a skyrocketing number of such requests the EPA has received under the Trump administration, but well have more on that below. So what was this new, secret program to allow the EPA to screen incoming requests?
Hot Air has received a copy of both Cummings letter to the EPA as well as the response sent to Cummings this weekend from Kevin Minoli, EPAs Principal Deputy General Counsel and Designated Ethics Official. First, lets have a look at the introductory portion of Cummings letter and what hes clearly implying with his demand for a subpoena. (Click on thumbnail for full image. Emphasis added.)

OOPS!....................Never mind!..................
While his mouth windmills the latest DemWit outrage of the day... his brain(?) seems stuck in neutral.
DemWit motto: When yo’ insanity don’t work, get insanier!
These people are so effin’ dumb, it’s almost too hard to imagine that they are in the positions they are. I was never really a big fan of the term limit movement, as I thought that the voters should be paying more attention to what these morons are doing and be willing to give someone else a chance, once in a while.
However, with President Trump coming into office and the level of corruption that has been exposed thus far, and much more yet to be exposed, I’m fully convinced that not only do we institute, Term Limits, we also have:
Set their pay. No raises unless the people allow it and ABSOLUTELY NO PENSIONS. They wouldn’t be needed anyway as term limits will cut them off.
Put them up in a Government provided hotel room, apartment if they can’t afford to fend for themselves.
No year long sessions. Let them meet a few times a year, maybe quarterly, in DC. The rest of the time they live where they represent so they’re accessible to their constituents.
Repeal of the 17th Amendment. Hell, if we had that combined with the makeup of state legislatures, there’d be at least 60-66 Republicans in the Senate.
They go on obamacare.
They pay into Social Security.
Basically, they live like the rest of us, without being wined and dined by special interest in the expensive restaurants of DC.
Elija Cummings proves that you just can’t fix stupid! And the fools in Baltimore will continue to re-elect this idiot.
Ever see this buffoon in action? Nuff said.
The dems, in their quest to take down Trump, remind me of these hunters of “Big Foot”...all wanting to be the one who brings down “Sasquatch”.
They don’t sit in their offices, and attend congressional meetings to thing up ways to make America better, their time is obsessively consumed in “who will be ‘The One’ to bring down Trump?”.
If you combined the IQ’s of Cummings, Waters, and a few others, you couldn’t come up with a halfway decent golf score.
It’s so embarrassing to listen to the rantings of clowns, like Hank JOhnson, it’s like overhearing 12 year old’s playing “pretend”.
They’re not even smart enough to see how stupid they sound even when the tapes are played back to them.
It’s pathetic what a “Romper Room” our United States Congress has become. More silly games daily than you can find on the ‘Game Show Channel.
I’m convinced that somewhere there exists an “Oscar-type” trophy being held for “the one” who finally gets something on Trump that will “stick”. So far, they’ve all be “rotten tomatoes”.
The Dimwits keep stepping in dog poop.
What they don’t realize is...they’re stepping in dog poop because they’re INSIDE the poopee bag and can’t find their way out.
Aside from his bald head and the other very obvious profile item, Cummings has a stff problem. His staff handed him this bomb and he accepted it with out question.
The item is too detailed for his perception.
One thing missing from your list...exploding neck collars.
The congress itself must make all these changes. I'm sure some congress critter would offer such a bill to change all these things.
But who is going to pass legislation to change these things?
The very congressmen these changes are meant to rein in.
Ain't going to happen.
Do the “idiots” actually get to vote?
Back in the bad old Mayor Dailey days... there was a saying in Chicago: “Everybody gets to cast a ballot, but the votes have already been counted.”
Elijah Cummings is certainly rank.
The purpose or ulterior motive for lashing out.......idiots.
My bad!!
Pity the poor old drooling half witted fool.
Very true. But, I think that goes to the point I made about folks paying attention. We all live our lives. We get complacent. We have to deal with, LIFE and everything that comes with it. But, if we were paying more attention, we’d be able to force these same critters to do what we elect them to do.
Congress Critter #1, you campaigned on term limits for yourself and everyone else 18 months ago and we see that you’ve done nothing about it. Bye Bye. Pick the next guy. Of course, there has to be another person to run for the seat. If there is, then eventually we just might get someone worth a sh*t to do it and shame the rest of them into passing it.
As we both know, it was never meant to be a full time job. Only when they figured out how they could line their own pockets, those of their puppet masters and accumulate ‘power’ did they start voting themselves all the goodies, without our consent.
These people have no shame and no ethics. It was an Obama policy? Whatever, forget about that. It's YOUR policy, Trump. Your fault. Alert the media.
Cummings and Maxine... low IQ and angry.
cummings is a well-established low IQ loser.
