Militarily I agree. Economically, I like Trump’s apparent desire to negotiate bilateral deals with each country. And in that basket, I think you would need to include Japan, Korea (which I think has already been done), the EU, Canada, Mexico, friendly Middle East and Latin American countries, Britain, Israel, Zealand. and Australia.

Threat analysis is complicated by timeframe and intervening events. Islam could be #1 in the long run.

2) Why wouldn't the US want good relations with a nuclear power like Russia?
