The “single mothers with children” is what broke up many families. Want of a welfare check drove the man out of the house. Now you have the baby daddy culture. Govt pays by the kid, so, more kids=bigger check. The fertile woman is now the breadwinner. This is multi generational and won’t be an easy fix.
When churches were coaxed into letting Uncle Sam do it, the gospel voice was stilled. Men could easily rationalize that it was a kindness to back away from baby mamas.
