PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A number of Patriot Prayer supporters, including group leader Tusitala "Tiny" Toese, wore t-shirts at the Saturday protest in Portland that read: Pinochet did nothing wrong.

Who is Pinochet?

Augusto Pinochet was the leader of the military junta that overthrew Chile's President Salvador Allende on September 11, 1973. For the next 16 years, Pinochet was the head of Chile's military government.

Information from Brittanica.com

Thousands of his regime's opponents were tortured and during his nearly 17 years in charge he moved to crush Chile's liberal opposition. During the first 3 years of his regime, about 130,000 people were arrested.

"Pinochet was determined to exterminate leftism in Chile and to reassert free-market policies in the country’s economy. His junta was widely condemned for its harsh suppression of dissent."

The article does not adequately describe what Pinochet was doing.

He was hunting and killing Marxist Revolutionaries. With the full support of the US Government.

This T shirt likely caused both rage and fear on the left at yesterdays rally.

Pinochet wasn’t any worse than Che Guevarra.

There was an entire generation of Marxists that just disappeared in Chile. He reset the stage for at least forty years.

“I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice!”. Liberals hold Nelson Mandela up as some sort of humanitarian, even though he was a terrorist and a communist, whos organization killed tens of thousands of people.

Funny that there's no leftist uproar about this t-shirt. It depicts the greatest mass murderer of all time.

There were also approximately 10,000 operatives from East Germany and Cuba brought in by Salvador Allende. Allende was about to throw out the constitution. A coalition of other political parties (Allende won with only 33% of the votes, the remaining scattered among other parties. Chile had no runoff rule.) and judges begged Pinochet to do something, and he was extremely reluctant at first.

Pinochet’s real sin was winning. He went to war against the Left to save Chile. He won. He went well beyond scolding them for having hypocritical positions. He killed a lot of them. After winning, he rubbed the Left’s noses in it by establishing a viable nation with a growing economy. No wonder he triggers them.

If Cuba had a Pinochet, it would be the most free and most prosperous country in Latin America. Like it was before Castro. Like Chile is today.

Venezuela died because it had no Pinochet.

Peru had Fujimori, who was not a politician, he was a man who stepped up at a time Sendero was in the outskirts of Lima and most of the rest of the country had fallen.

He wiped them out to the last man. Once it was safe for the politicians to come out of hiding, they tried him and jailed him. Because he made it safe for normal people. He saved the country at the cost of his own.

Amusing how this lying piece of Commy propaganda never mention the Cambodian commy atrocities where the Khmer Rouge killed millions of their own citizens right around this same time-frame.
