I had a “secret” clearance in the Air Force...the day I was discharged, ended my security clearance.

I don’t get how they can muster out, or get fired, and not lose their security clearance.

An ex-employee, or disgruntled employee, is the worst person in the world to continue to hold a security clearance.

I don't understand why they maintain their clearance either.

It seems obvious once you're out, you should lose access to security updates.

What is the reasoning behind letting people keep their security clearance?

Can I go to my last job and sit in on meetings?

I think it depends on what you do after you leave. My clearance was picked up by my employer when I left the military. I didn’t have to fill out the entire packet to get it transferred.I don’t think the clearance all the way away when somebody leaves the military, just inactivated. I was told by a security guy that it could be reactivated within a couple of years after you leave the military before it goes all he way away.

Kind of a funny story. I am a military contractor. I teach US pilots how to use certain equipment made in Israel.

The original manuals were written in Hebrew. I pretty much wrote the original manual. I assisted in translating the document to English (mainly to make sure subtle issues were not lost.)

Anyway, for a long while I was restricted from having/reading the English manual I wrote because Obama made it difficult for foreign nationals to maintain a security clearance.

So I would teach a class with the students having the English manual and me having the Hebrew manual. It was a complete pain in the ass

Typical government.

Ditto. But I was in aerospace. Same rule.

Brennan gave millions of dollars of contract work to A DOD contractor to change the agency management, how to do things, etc. Then I believe he was in on the decision to give a contract to Booz, Allen, Hamilton. They pay big bucks plus hire Colonels and project managers when they retire from the Gov. Brennan, Comey, and all are just white collar crooks.
