my guess is it has to do with people born with both genitalia - hermaphrodites. Usually someone makes a determination as to which genitals are most potentially functional or they decide which sex to raise the infant as. I think leaving both there will only create more problems.

Bingo ! The key phrase here is “ which genitals are most potentially functional”. The decision to raise a child as the parents think they should be, is counter-californian.

It has to be a decision based on which genitals are likely to be functional. And that has to be done at the infant ages for the healing to occur properly, for hormones to be measured and fostered and finally to decide if a hormone treatment is to be used.

Never EVER assume that California has the health of a baby in mind. It never ever does and never ever will. What this law does is prevent such care from being performed because of it’s impact on the LGBTQ49((:-) community.

Like how dead people as a group denounce cures for hearing loss, genetic therapies and treatments because it puts the “hearing impaired culture” on the endangered list. Seriously, they call the cure genocide.
