Ridiculous! Most private companies limit the amount of rollover each year. It’s use it or lose it.

I worked for a private company - largest utility in AK - when I left, I got paid enough for my unused vacation (after taxes) to pay off my home.

Yeah, limiting rollover is a thing. Even the military limits leave to no more than 90 days (at least when I was AD)

I was able to cash out over 1500 hours of leave when I retired from the State of Alaska. The state put a limit on how much leave you can have on your books not too long after I retired. And I only had to work 6 years and 11 months to get a 20 year retirement. Pretty sweet gig.

This is simply theft by government. The politicians who made this happen should be arrested, tried and convicted of theft. They should also be held financially responsible.
