It should be made clear to Collins if she votes no, there will be no money from the RNC or the Senate campaign fund. In addition, the money will go to whoever challenges her in the primaries.

I’m sure whatever power McConnell has, (and apparently,it’s considerable) he will use to get the confirmation approved. Only FLAKE is the obvious NO vote. He’s been making excuses and helping democrats move the goal posts, all along. There’s not a whole lot McConnell can hold over HIS head, since he’s leaving. (Unless Mitch intends to support his preferred presidential race pick...and I don’t think that’s going to happen).

Collins in Maine as a Republican is tenuous. I think McConnell knows she is close. Strangely, if she votes “NO” and McConnell punishes her, that may help to burnish her “independent” bona fides with her voters and help her to possibly prevail in her next election. There is no telling what will happen.

When he returned to the committee meeting on Friday and was proposing his conditions for a "Yes" vote to move the nomination to the full Senate, that is what I thought. He was shaking like a leaf.
So Collins wants dossiers about feminists filed in federal offices, too.
