Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., will not be available at any point on Saturday to vote to confirm Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Instead, he'll be at his daughters wedding, Fox News has learned.
The absence of the senator expected to support the embattled nominees confirmation throws a wrench into the works as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., aims to push through Kavanaughs nomination to the high court.
The decision means McConnell would need to obtain all of his available 50 Republican senators to vote for the judge. It would also push Vice President Mike Pence out of the mix, as 99 senators would be voting and Pence can only settle things in the event of a tie. Under the new precedent established during Nuclear Option II on Supreme Court nominees, the Senate simply needs a "majority" of those "voting."

That's what I'm thinking. This guy Senator Daines will not be the deciding vote on whether or not Judge Kavanaugh is confirmed.
You're damned dead wrong!
He was hired to do a job; he's refusing to do it because of a wedding...a wedding that is NOT "more important" than this vote is, to him, AND to his daughter.
Cloture was invoked wednesday night before 10PM eastern. They can vote anytime after 10PM Friday night and this weak sister can jump on a plane (probably Trump’s) to the wedding immediately after.
You were right to be concerned about Sen Daines from Montana.
I agree also. This has probably been in planning for months, and those kind of things are not just changed willy nilly.
I wonder if the Democrats had put this into their planning?
My daughter got married, I was in Iraq getting shot at. No sympathy.
Now that this is known, I’m sure they’ll try to delay and halt the vote.
yeah hes holding out for something pork flavored.
If Cocaine Mitch brings the cloture motion to the floor at midnight, they can vote at 1 am, then they can vote to confirm Saturday 7 AM.
Excellent point. And this bloated congressman is not more important than any service man.
Thank you for your service
Stupid and selfish FREEPERS...
hey idiots, you cannot cancel a wedding and it’s been planned ahead of time. This is not Daines fault.
1) Quit being hypocrites stating “I will cancel my daughter’s wedding BECAUSE (FILL IN THE BLANKS)-—I know YOU WONT. Not for your daughter or son’s wedding where the minimum cost once planned is $25K. Talk is cheap.
If the GOP and the idiot dems actually had the votes a week ago, it would not have come to this.
2) Daines is NOT going to vote no. It’s a yes. This is not Flake being a retarded drama queen and flip flopping until the last second because we know he’s a lying POS. Daines will vote yes, but the timing is off.
3) Trump can easily fly him to to his daughter’s wedding with a Friday night vote. Big effing deal.
I was also deployed when my daughter got married. Of course, she didn’t invite my wife (her mother) anyways....
I bet they’ll wind up voting on Sunday or even Monday. Two more days for the democrats to fling crap.
Did he just tell McConnell about this conflict?
Is it possible for a man to be such a fool?
It does happen all the time. MAC flights were $10 to anywhere in the world when I was in or sometimes I flew commercial. What’s the big deal?
IF this is true, he is failing his duty as a public servant and crapping on the American people.

If my daughter wanted a $25,000+ wedding, she’d darn well BETTER be doing it without me! It’s been a long time, but my wedding ran under $1,000. Hell would freeze over before I’d drop $25K on someone’s wedding!
That said, I won’t sweat bullets if the vote is on Sunday.
Well, my daughter and my new son in law had good reason to get married while I was deployed. They were deploying too. We celebrated in northern Iraq. We all made it home safe. It remains one of those once in a lifetime stories.
