A police department that stands down and observes citizens being subjected to mob violence apparently does not understand American principles. The police seem to base their their actions according to a political bias instead of law enforcement standards.
If it is the same video I saw last week, he tried to drive away slowly but they kept chasing him and getting in front of the car.
If you can use deadly force when you believe your life is in danger, then you certainly can continue to drive trough a mob intent on harming you.
The citizens of Portland are getting what they voted for as it is obvious the politician do not care about their citizens only the mob.
The Media has convinced the Masses that the Kid (the White Supremacist) who was driving the Dodge Challenger in Charlottesville that accidentally killed the SJW did it intentionally and he is a Murderer.
Unfortunately, even the POTUS bought into it.
How we got to the point that this Seasoned Citizen has to defend his actions tells you all you need to know about the two tired Justice System. Defend yourself in a Blue State and you are guilty. In a Red State you have at least a 50/50 shot of being presumed Innocent.
If he had let them beat him senseless, he would have been just another white male racist, and that is okay.
Bear in mind, though, the jury selection process.
I was headed to be on a auto injury/crash lawsuit, until during pretrial jury selection, the judge asked me what I thought of large jury awards. I didn't get to breath about 3 seconds worth of my conservative leanings, at which point I was shown the exit.
Good to not have been given the day off for jury duty, but I would have enjoyed awarding $1 if it was some ridiculous case driving up insurance costs.
Mind you, this was not even one of the lawyers exercising their exclusions - didn't get to that point. It was the judge herself.

He did no wrong.
If someone is standing in front of his car to try to keep him from leaving the presence of someone else who is trying to hurt him, he has every right to do what is necessary to protect his own life.
It’s not assault. It’s self-defense.
The person standing in front of his car should be also charged for attempted assault, being complicit in the crime.
He should appeal it all the way to SCOTUS if need be.
It’s a good reason to stay away from cities, especially liberal enclaves (hell holes) like Portland.
In the most recent jury which I got to voir dire on, one of the lawyers asked if any of the jurors knew what "jury nullification" was. I gave a thorough enough explanation that the lawyer said maybe I was on the wrong side of the railing. Needless to say, I did not get on that jury.
I think the first amendment only states that we have a right to peaceful assembling.
Non peaceful assembling has been getting way out of hand for quite some time.
Heads need to be cracked. Who will do it?
