I get the feeling from the last few times I was there that there is abject terror that the we up here in the EUUA will start taxing money transfers.
And Mexico continues to struggle economically and can’t easily take a hit if the USA withholds $$ or freezes the new trade agreement.
I don’t know if Obrador is consulting with the old government or not — I will post back to this after I get home and can discuss it with my wife (who is from Mexico).
Like everyone else, Mexico will do whats in their interest. To avoid financial pain they will cooperate when they have to.
We need to impose the pain to let them know we are serious and only back off AFTER there are actions that produce tangible results.
