He fought in World War II. He died in 2014. And he just registered to vote in Va.

RICHMOND — The FBI and local police are investigating how at least 19 dead Virginians were recently re-registered to vote in this critical swing state.

One case came to light after relatives of a deceased man received a note congratulating him for registering, Rockingham County Commonwealth’s Attorney Marsha Garst said Thursday.

“His family members were very distraught,” said Garst, who confirmed the existence of the FBI and police investigation but said she could provide few details because the case is ongoing.

All 19 were initially registered as voters in the Shenandoah Valley city of Harrisonburg, although a clerk double-checking the entries later raised questions about one. She recognized the name of Richard Allen Claybrook Sr., who died in 2014 at age 87, because his son is a well-known local judge. She happened to recall that the judge’s father had died.

“He was a retired Fairfax County elementary school principal and had fought in World War II,” said his son, retired Harrisonburg General District Court Judge Richard Allen Claybrook Jr. “So our family is very disgusted that they would pick his name, because he was such a law-abiding citizen devoted to public service.”

[VA] House Minority Leader David J. Tuscano (D-Charlottesville) claimed this was not proof of voter fraud because no vote had been cast.

He who smelt it dealt it...

I don’t have a lot of faith in the Bureau recently. The university wheee O went to school had bomb threats called in by a student over two weeks. From his OWN CELL PHONE. It took the FBI, not to mention 20 academic buildings filled to overflowing with Ph.D.’s most of a month to find this idiot while he was still attending classes and still using the cell phone he used to phone in the threats. This loser, dubbing himself “A Jamerican” because he said he was held-Jamaican and half American, wound up in federal court and received less than a year in jail.

So you’ll forgive me if the bureau rings kinda hollow for me right now.

Then there is that famous statement, “No reasonable prosecutor would charge....”. “No intent”!

I know there must be an actual law against voter fraud, but I’ll be darned if I can find it!

I believe there is NO federal law WRT fraudulent voting. The only voting that is conducted by the federal government is the Electoral College. All other voting is at state or local level.

So, if the fraudulent voting involves identity theft, such as registering dead people, the the FBI would (should) investigate.

However, if some poll workers are able to stuff their ballot box, or manipulate the numbers, then there is nothing the FBI can do. Prosecution would have to be at the State level. (Please note, this is my opinion/understanding. If anyone in Freeper land knows otherwise, please chime in.)

What I am unsure of is whether an alien (illegal or legal) registering as a citizen would be a federal crime. Once again, if anyone knows, please inform us all.

Well... That would explain why I can't find it.

I think the federal government has no business meddling in state or local elections.

BUT when there is a federal office on the ballot, that should give the feds the authority and the responsibility to monitor those elections for fraud of any stripe.

How stupid must Democrats think people are?

Very stupid, and most of their voters indeed are.

He’s deflecting. It’s also not bank robbery. He doesn’t want anybody to realize that it is at least identity theft, which has recently become subject to pretty big penalties.

"Zombie voter. Every one of them a Democrat. How convenient."

I've always said I will never vote Democrat as long as I am alive. After that, all bets are off.

“When does the civil war start.”

The lead up to the “Hot Civil War” started years ago and is increasing in intensity daily. While technically still in it’s COLD stage it could turn HOT at any moment. It will when the Left thinks it has an advantage or when it feels backed into a corner.

For now I’m content to just be prepared for that event. No one who has experienced war wants this....yet the far left is pushing for it thinking it could “win.” Typical leftist fantasy as no one will win in a Civil War scenario,
