Opioid Trafficking Is Domestic Terrorism
RCP ^ | Sara Carter

America is facing a drug crisis unlike anything it has ever seen before. On average from 1999 to 2016, 115 people died every day from opioid overdoses across the nation — with the total annual figure peaking at more than 49,000 in 2017. If this were a disease or a plague, America would be in a panic, schools would close, and those affected would be in quarantine.

A new synthetic opiate called fentanyl is responsible for much of this carnage. One of the deadliest drugs to ever plague our streets, just 2 milligrams of fentanyl can kill a grown man — making it more dangerous than anthrax. Many times, users have no idea that these synthetic opioids are being laced into marijuana, heroin, and pills that appear to be legitimate prescription medications. In Ohio, roughly 50 percent of the pills being sold on the streets are fakes with a fentanyl and heroin mix. Even though the pills look legitimate, a single one can be lethal. There are no second chances.

*snip*

The groups responsible for bringing these drugs into our country are some of the deadliest and most brutal gangsters to ever operate inside and outside America. Violent marauders like the Sinaloa Cartel, Jalisco Neuva Generacion and the armed street gangs they hire, including MS-13, are moving contraband at a constant rate. Translated, the motto of MS-13 is “kill, steal, rape, control.”

*snip*

There is a simple way to fight the daunting criminal networks working against America: a border wall. Not a barrier to stop legal immigrants, but a wall to prevent horrific substances and brutal killers from entering our country. It would be a great start to a long fight to bring down that daily opioid death toll.

They made a CHOICE to use drugs.

I neglected to mention I don't include those hooked by their medical professionals, who could also be executed as far as I am concerned.

Are we still protecting the Afghan poppy fields?
There’s a persistent rumor we protect Mexican fields. Dunno!

Big pharma spends $250,000,000.00+ per year lobbying congress.

Another example of why all political donations should have to be ANONYMOUS. Can't sell influence if you don't know who is buying.

Not to hold this up as a solution for the USA, but when the communists took over on China they had a really bad problem with opium addiction. They ended it by executing the addicts and the dealers. I believe that to this day China does not have much of a drug problem. Point being it is the addicts that cause the problem not the drugs or the dealers. No addicts then the drug dealers turn to other crime. (Like being Democrat politicians)

I am a great parent. From your comment probably one hell of a lot better than you. My kids have the same attitude toward addiction as I do. Take your insult and stick it.

"...drug dealers turn to other crime. (Like being Democrat politicians)"

You would think drug dealers would draw the line somewhere.

Death for drug trafficking. A certain weight is evidence of trafficking.
The Singapore solution. But it will never happen here.
We should crack down on high profile users that influence kids. Hollywood high flying business and politicians.

“A new synthetic opiate called fentanyl”

fentanyl isn’t new and it isn’t what’s killing people ... what IS new and IS killing people are various super-potent fentanyl-like compounds flooding the U.S. from Chinese laboratories

It’s a path they chose knowing what inevitably lies at the end of it. To hell with them

I spent 25 years working on the streets in the most crime ridden city in the Northwest. We had twice the rate of criminal activity as Seattle and 50% more than Portland. Your view of druggies and the problems they create is far more accurate than the fuzzy bunny portrayal advocated by the persons who scolded you here and said that you were “40 years behind the times”. This is from someone who spent his career often bringing the exact same losers back from the dead with Narcan and CPR.

The media and the entertainment industry is pushing a false narrative on this issue that portrays the users in a very sympathetic light that is almost completely false. They typically start with alcohol and marijuana and keep wanting more and more. There is an abundance of information and even popular songs available to them for decades letting them know where they are headed. We always did our best to save them, but I don't shed a lot of tears these days over the ones we didn't find in time. It was sheer stupidity. Usually the ones we would find dead were doing it alone because they had already alienated all of their friends and family. Often they had been dead and decaying for days or weeks.

Fentanyl is not new.

Liberal establishment encourages drug use.

There is a lot of cognitive dissonance out there.

Of course most of it is prescription. And fentanyl has been around since 1960. But other than that... well the article is still full of crap.

No one forced these them to become junkies. It’s a path they chose knowing what inevitably lies at the end of it. To hell with them

I generally agree, but a lot of unsuspecting people get hooked by prescription drugs given to them by trusted doctors and hospitals after they have had operations and are in pain.

Our medical profession prescribes to many of these drugs and also prescribes too long a period of taking these drugs and by the time the pills are all taken, the patient can be hooked on them. -Tom

What a sad state of affairs. I noticed an ad about that in CVS where they said to keep your own kids from using a few of your Rx drugs. Showed a well groomed, well dressed girl. Sad.
