Rep. Eric Swalwell Thinks Gun Confiscation Will Work Out Fine Because Government Has Nukes
Reason ^ | 11/16/18 | Brian Doherty

What does it take to get a U.S. House member to...very publicly threaten to nuke American citizens who want to defend their constitutional rights under the Second Amendment?

Nothing more than pushing back on Twitter against that congressman, Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.)'s proposal from earlier this year to fully ban and buy back every one of what he wants to designate as "assault weapons" with the added bonus of "criminally prosecut[ing] any who choose to defy it."

Rep. Swalwell, willing to make sure the war against any possible American citizen resistance over gun confiscation doesn't fall into the endless quagmire of so many other guerrilla wars of the past century, reminds the citizen that while the government as represented by him wants your guns, it has something far stronger it would be perfectly happy to use if you complain:"The government has nukes. Too many of them. But they’re legit. I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities."

Never heard of him before this. Guess we know why.

They won't leave too many neighborhoods. But, I'm sure that's OK with most Dims..

With all the bitter clingers and all of the Latino agricultural workers dead, and the food radioactive, what will the Democrats eat? Each other?

I am pretty sure that they either would do cannibalism or end their own lives if really in such a situation.

I don't know how prominent this guy is because I've never heard of him.

Be that as it may, the mere fact that he suggested this government gun confiscatory plan is disturbing in the least.

At worst are his "solutions" if people don't do along with it. Criminally prosecute them? For standing up in defense of their constitutional rights?

But just to add crazy to this ludicrous plan, he threatens Americans with being "nuked" by their own government. Nuke them? Really?

It's not enough that the Left doesn't like our country and what is stands for. That they believe the opposite of what conservatives believe. Now, they must completely ruin your life and destroy you if necessary to get their way.

Dangerous lunatic indeed. More like a terrorist than public official.

“...what will the Democrats eat?”

That haven’t thought that far ahead.

They never do.

They are welcome to nuke the 10 largest cities in the US.

The democrat party would never win another statewide election.

re. Molon Labe

The literal Greek translation is “Having come, take.”

My actual favorite a bit closer to home: The battle of Gonzales, Texas in 1835:

“Come and take it”.

Such an idiot.

Yes, he's stupid. He did two stupid things, here:

1) He let the cat out of the bag. The demonicRATs view We the People as the enemy. They will destroy us by any means necessary.

2) He thinks nukes are useful weapons against a dispersed enemy.

The statement was idiotic and childish but he meant every word of it in leftist doctrine: they want conservatives disappeared and guns only belonging to government and the chosen elites. It is not hard to figure how “governments” can extinguish millions of people in a relative historical blink of an eye from genocide, ethnic cleansing, holocaust, gulag and all other means of Mega Death. The American left and the world globalists are sharpening knives and are quite bold now with rhetoric.

“I’m sure if we talked we could find common ground to protect our families and communities.”

Who would talk with this guy. The only common ground here is a cemetery.

This man is projecting that Trump has the power to nuke us at any moment. Look at his quote. If someone is willing to demonize so hard over not getting whom he wanted in the White House, he should never be in the White House.

Of course: They want to revert most of the land to the (radioactive) wilderness.

He’s suggesting we talk and find common ground in that “or else” sort of way

Idiot?

The guy is certifiably insane!

Consider: The oath used today [in the House of Representatives has not changed since 1966 and is prescribed in Title 5, Section 3331 of the United States Code. It reads: “I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

He has NO INTENTION of upholding his oath! But, no matter,
AFAIK, [and ALAS!] no Congressman/Senator has ever been prosecuted for violating this oath!
