When was Mr. Sessions ever this ‘alive’ and animated?
Why, he almost looks...what’s the word?.....”excited!”.
Maybe he was speaking off the record to someone from The Swamp.

The Qtards are huffing gaslight like it was Freon. The fact is the GOP didn’t want to expose the coup because the NeverTrumpers were in on it and part of it.

Sessions is scum. He should have either not recused himself or else resigned immediately. Instead, he betrayed Donald Trump and he betrayed the American people. He’s scum.

Exactly right. My guess is that John McCain was the principal figure in the entire sordid affair.

BTW, what ever happened to the IG investigation? One report was released that was supposed to be somewhat preliminary, with something like two more substantive reports to follow. As far as I know there have been no further reports and I haven’t seen Horowitz’s name in the news for months it seems like.

Horowitz cannot admit what happened until after the Statute of Limitations has passed.

Well it does look like the Deep State is getting away with it. By "it" I mean the attempted coup.

And it may be worse than that.

If either of those happen the beat down the GOP just suffered a couple weeks ago will look like nothing compared to what we suffer in 2020.

It could well look like the post-Watergate 1974 and 1976 elections combined. From Wikipedia:

1974 House: This scandal (Watergate, Nixon resignation), along with high inflation, allowed the Democrats to make large gains in the midterm elections, taking 49 seats from the Republicans and increasing their majority above the two-thirds mark. 291-144.

1974 Senate: Democrats made a net gain of three seats from the Republicans. This pushed their total to 60, which was increased to 61 following a special election in 1975.

In 1976: the Dems increased their huge House margin by one seat to 292-143 and their Senate margin remained at 61-39.

Jimmy Carter won the Presidency with 297 electoral votes.

I have zero doubt that this is what the plan is. It's pretty obvious, and it's a pretty good plan.

A lot of Americans fell for the "Orange Man Bad" narrative, else how can we explain the roughly 40 seat House loss that the GOP just suffered?

This despite great economic conditions, a stock market that was doing pretty well, super low unemloyment, and a foreign policy that has not included any new wars or crisis.

Still the relentless media narrative that Trump is bad, Trump is corrupt, the Russians stole the election -- it seems to have paid off.

Imagine what the same partisan media can do with actual indictments of Trump, his family or an impeachment proceeding in the House.

This is why I have always felt that Trump must fight fire with fire and indict many former Obama officials, as many as possible. And Hillary.

(I would personally spare Obama unless absolutely compelling evidence of a high-crime is found, but that's just me. My reading suggests that jailing former heads of states makes transition to dictatorship far more likely, as the cost of leaving office when you lose an election goes up exponentially I put the orderly transition of power as an extremely important function of our system, which should not be endangered except for the most incredible set of facts.)

The IG Reports are nothing but political cover and smoke screens. No one wants to fight, as some others have posted. Sessions was a full conspirator. He outright dismissed the Awans and Lerner. He verbally said he would never go after HRC. The Qspirators were created to make excuses since Oct. 2017. Wait and see is there only goal. Trump is now done. He was elected and is doing a fine job with some things(economy). HRC was never elected. she gets to keep her stolen $Trillions and still run the country. Clinton foundations are still working in full force as witnessed by the recent MidTerms.

Quidam or Sinkspur? (g)

I've been a registered "I" for years. The globalist/neocon bent to the Rs were never my cup of tea. While the Ds have always been socialists to me, and I've never voted for one, the Bushes drove me away from the Rs. What the hell was a thousand points of light anyway?? I've been a Trumpster from day-1 and will ride with him to the end. But I hear you about something new, and IMO Trump has already broken the Republican party. Politically things will never be the same so yes, maybe a new party will spring up or if the Rs insist on giving us another Romney maybe folks will just stay home. God only knows our future but I've never felt so uneasy in my life.

I have heard that 45 Republican members of congress retired. If they had stuck around, most of them would have retained their seats and they would still be in control.

I wish Trump had called them in for a pep talk, urging them to hang in there for another term.

At the OIG website there's a listing of current investigations in the "Ongoing Work" section. Here's the big one that's still due:
Examination of the Department’s and the FBI’s Compliance with Legal Requirements and Policies in Applications Filed with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court Relating to a certain U.S. Person

The OIG, in response to requests from the Attorney General and Members of Congress, is examining the Department’s and the FBI’s compliance with legal requirements, and with applicable DOJ and FBI policies and procedures, in applications filed with the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) relating to a certain U.S. person. As part of this examination, the OIG is also reviewing information that was known to the DOJ and the FBI at the time the applications were filed from or about an alleged FBI confidential source. Additionally, the OIG is reviewing the DOJ’s and FBI’s relationship and communications with the alleged source as they relate to the FISC applications. If circumstances warrant, the OIG will consider including other issues that may arise during the course of the review.

No timeframe is given. I wonder if an ETA has been given elsewhere.

There's also this one:

FBI’s Confidential Human Source Program

The OIG is auditing the FBI’s Confidential Human Source Program. The preliminary objectives are to: (1) assess the FBI’s management and oversight of its Confidential Human Source Program, to include the FBI’s oversight of payments to confidential human sources, (2) examine the FBI’s confidential human source policies to ensure consistency with the Attorney General Guidelines, and (3) assess the FBI’s process of determining reliability and appropriateness of confidential human sources.

Seems like it could apply to the Christopher Steele matter, maybe, but again no timeframe.

Thanks — I was just over at the OIG site and am seeing the same thing. It seems odd that there’s no date or timeframe given for the FISC report, which has the potential to be big. Surely an estimate has been stated somewhere.

It was 26 Repubicans who retired, and 8 Dems according to this article at 538.com, which is usually pretty good at stuff like this.

Possibly one or two left after this, but it's bad form as this article dates from the last day to get on the ballot.

The number of senators and representatives who declined to seek re-election, excluding those leaving to run for other offices, along with the overall election outcome

Obviously, those running for higher office need to be added to the total.

In 1976: the Dems increased their huge House margin by one seat to 292-143 and their Senate margin remained at 61-39.

Those numbers are astonishing, but I would take the 1974/1976 Democrat super majorities over their slim majority in the House today. Back then there many, many Blue Dog Democrats who were conservative and loved the country. Today's Democratic Party is 100% Marxist and actively subverting the US Constitution.
