A New Mexico resident didn’t just have to prove his love before getting married – he had to prove New Mexico is actually a state.

When Gavin Clarkson and his future bride applied for a marriage license in Washington, D.C., earlier this month, he was told he needed to provide an international passport to be approved.

Not just any government worker- a supervisor. Care to guess the affirmative action box checked off when that person was hired?

A family friend who lived in New Mexico used to regularly share stories along these lines. There are indeed many ignoramuses residing in the other 49 states who are unaware of what NM is, where it is or of its membership in the Union.

Pretty sure that the reason why the NM license plate says “New Mexico USA,” and is the only state plate with the “USA” suffix is to mitigate the problem of not-so-bright folks (including, sadly, some law enforcement) in other states thinking that a foreign driver is on their roads.

And people want them in charge of healthcare and want the government to be the only ones with guns.

I live in Alaska. Driving to visit friends in Az, I have to have a passport.

For flying, all that is needed is a passport card or a Real ID approved document.

It must be Canada asking for a Passport then. You only need a Passport Card to travel by foot or vehicle back in from Canada or Mexico unless something has changed at the Northern border.

A low of low IQ folks go to work for the government doing boring and mundane work for thirty+ years, make more per year then civilian counterparts and retire making 50% or better their yearly salary. Not quite the same as drawing Social Security is it?
