President Trump: I've Narrowed My Chief of Staff Search to Five People

The search for President Trump's next chief-of-staff continues, but we're getting closer to a decision.

Speaking at the White House Thursday afternoon, President Trump said he has narrowed down his choices.

During an interview with Fox News, President Trump said he is still open to ideas about who should replace General John Kelly, but that he's looking for someone who "thinks like him."

"I want someone that's strong but I want someone that thinks like I do. It's my vision, it is my vision after all. At the same time I'm open to ideas," Trump said.

Citizen's United President David Bossie was seen entering the West Wing earlier today and is scheduled to meet with President Trump for lunch on Friday.

Yesterday it was announced House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows is no longer being considered.

"Congressman Mark Meadows is a great friend to President Trump and is doing an incredible job in Congress. The President told him we need him in Congress so he can continue the great work he is doing there," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a statement.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is also in the running for the job.

Trump needs an issues man who can help him to stay on message and to select appointees who can get things done.

He needs a person that agrees with his vision instead of someone constantly telling him why he can't do something.

LOL! Perfect.

“And Saint Atilla held aloft the Holy Hand Grenade, and said, ‘Bless Thou O LORD this, Thine Holy Hand Grenade, that with it Thou mayest blow Thine enemies into tiny bits. Amen.”

A governor would be good. Meadows hasn’t accomplished much, doubt he has the gravitas to carry out the job. In the end, he needs to pick a friend, someone he can trust.

Are you on drugs? North?!

We are looking for a Chief of Staff, what are you looking for? I see you suggested a governor would be good? Who did you have in mind, Kasich? Governors have a tendency to think they are the executive. A military man like North has the discipline and understands the chain of command and who is boss. He is probably too old now, I did not realize he is 75. People are talking about Gingrich, but he's the same age.

Newt is a loose cannon. Never go Full Newt.
Bongino is a good guy but doesn’t strike me as bright enough.
Rogers is the one to choose.

North has zero credibility. I too am surprised he is 75. Thought it was stupid that NRA hired him, almost made me want to quit the organization. But, thankfully, they put him in a closet somewhere and we haven't seen him since. Figure I'm not alone in wanting to hear or see him. He's a disgrace. There's a reason he didn't win a senate race in Virginia and it wasn't Democrat.

Anyway, Trump seriously needs someone he knows, someone he trusts, someone who can help him. And, yes, someone that staff can respect.

I wonder if any of media or our speculation will be remotely correct?

".....Then they showed a pic of Chris Christy and I said, “Awww HELL no!”

I second that "Awww, hell no!"

Chris Christie has too much baggage and is hardly someone who thinks like President Trump. He screwed-up the transition period beyond comprehension. He IS politically connected but to all the wrong people.

Forget the retired CEOs, Military generals and governors. Most come with Napoleon complexes. You need someone who will follow through with the bosses orders come 'ell or high water.

Find him a retired Navy chief or gunnery sergeant. They know how to lead men and know who is the boss: the guy who got elected. They can delicately, predictably tell that congressman or bureaucrat that they are SOL seeing the president that day because the boss says so.

Relieved that Mark Meadows stays in Congress. Congress can spare zero conservatives.
