POTUS Trump missed a grand opportunity to crush Pelosi and Schumer by exposing the Big Lie that Govt. shuts down.

It does not.

Exactly. When they were interviewing Steven Miller about whether Trump would shut it down over the wall, he assured them he would. I felt like he should have said something like “Ooh, ooh, if 10% of 30% of government workers get a paid vacation, how will we ever survive it? Whatever will we do?” and start a discussion of how lame these “shutdowns” actually are.

On the last big gooberment shutdown, non-essential staff’s pay was delayed.
They got their pay checks made up when the shutdown was over.

One of President Trump’s more significant achievements was forcing that useless piece of shit, Paul Ryan, to follow regular order in funding.

Omnibus bills got shitcanned.

I believe that in any gov “shutdown” the 1st thing to stop should be congressional pay. To include their staff.

Congress approved five bills providing funding for defense, energy and water, labor, Health and Human Services, the legislative branch and Veterans Affairs. Trump signed those into law.

The bills that need approval would fund the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Justice, Homeland Security, Interior, State, Transportation and Housing and Urban Development, as well as several smaller agencies. These are the shutdown targets.

DHS is not funded...Border Control\ICE comes under their umbrella.
If there is a shutdown, can’t have a totally open border.
Does the military replace border patrol ?

Shut down the 25% that’s not funded until we get the border security we have been promised since 1986.

I have a feeling PDJT wants to shut down then will hold a presser and edu-ma-cate the masses on how things are still running, SSA checks still sent, Wefare checks still sent, and he’ll make sure the VietNam memorial isn’t blocked nor any memorials, etc. Also I expect a tweet storm about it. WINNING!!!

Prsident Trump likes to keep his options open. Why blow up the shutdown narrative before negotiating within that framework?

Military issues aside, please consider the following.

Since the US Mail Service (1.8.7) is one of the very few domestic policy powers that the states have expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds, most other post-17th Amendment ratification federal domestic spending programs based on stolen state powers and stolen state revenues, if the mail continues to be delivered then the feds are basically 100% funded in that aspect.

Also, off topic, patriots are encouraged to watch Dan Bongino’s excellent 37 min video (associated book). The video helps to flesh out the alleged Mueller conspiracy against Pres. Trump.

The reason politicians fight so hard against government shutdowns is that shutdowns show 25% of the government is ‘non essential services’.

Politicians do not want to public to realize 25% of the government is basically unnecessary.

I worked for SBC for 30 years and when contract time came up, the union would ask for X % raise and benefits. It costs so many dollars a day for the people to show up for work. We took the cost of working compared to how much the union was asking for and that is how long the strike would last.

If the raise would cost 10% with all the extra health care and holidays with a little cash on the paycheck, then you could compute we could strike for 2-3 weeks and the company could pay for it without costing anything. Somehow we miraculously settled the contact in 2-3 weeks.

If we need $25 billion for a wall, close her down for a few weeks and bank the money. You might even add a week or two and end up with some deficit reduction. Government produces NO product so there is no loss of revenue.

As Reagan once said “Let’s shut it down, and see if anyone notices”.

And keep it ‘shut down’.

Why do we have anything that is not ‘essential services’ anyway?

At any government office, when asked how many people work there, the reply is “About half.”
