You do realize that those 800M are only from a few parts of the government?
Eighty-three percent of FedGov is already funded and not involved in the 'shutdown'. ALL of their non-essential employees are still working and getting paid! Assuming a similar ratio, that gives you somewhere around 4MM non-essential employees!

I don’t know who these employees are. Some may be non-essential, and some may be essential.
I do wish to see the fed gov reduced in size.
This seems like a great start, but when the full facts are know, it may be problematic to get rid of all of them.
That’s a whole lot of salary and benefit money right there.
