Does anyone believe there are 100,000 unemployed American IT people out there who are ready to take all those jobs mentioned in the article?
I do wish we could attract immigrants from places that aren't Third World dumps, though.
“Does anyone believe there are 100,000 unemployed American IT people out there who are ready to take all those jobs mentioned in the article? “
Yes, there are.
“Anyone who has dealt with recent U.S. college graduates will tell you that this country simply can’t educate enough capable, responsible people to keep our economy running on all cylinders. “
As a professor, I know we have the people. To say otherwise is insulting to Americans and showing stupidity far greater than the people you are trying to insult.
Thats a red herring. Tons of places fire Americans and hire foreign. Disney is a prominent example. Brought in a bunch of foreigners, made the Americans TRAIN their replacements in order to get any severance, then fired them when the foreigner was trained.
It isn’t that we don’t HAVE the skilled engineers, it is that the can hire foreigners cheaper.
I'm confident if you give this policy a year I can readily show you 100,000 unemployed American IT people. It's happened before.
There are quotas and unfortunately they favor people from Third World dumps. Obama actually revised the law (by an EO) to severely reduce Latin Americans and get more people from Muslim lands. He literally did this the month after he was inaugurated, and in fact it may have been one of his first EOs. Ive never figured out why Latin American advocacy groups didnt attack him on this, but then, theyre all direct subordinates of the Democratic Party and would never consider opposing the boss.
There are many Europeans who would like to emigrate to the US, not only English speakers, but Spaniards, French, Dutch, Italians, etc. - you name it.
Yes, there are plenty. All H1B need to leave with zero path to citizenship.
We need a lot less Indians here to get the economy booming again - not more.
Only 100,000? I bet there’s a 250,000+ tech workers that have been displaced that could do the work.
