At the height of Western dominance over Islam in the early twentieth century, the European historian Hilaire Belloc (b. 1870) made a remarkably prescient observation that may have seemed exaggerated at the time:
Millions of modern people of the white civilization -- that is, the civilization of Europe and America -- have forgotten all about Islam. They have never come in contact with it. They take for granted that it is decaying, and that, anyway, it is just a foreign religion which will not concern them. It is, as a fact, the most formidable and persistent enemy which our civilization has had, and may at any moment become as large a menace in the future as it has been in the past” (from Belloc’s The Great Heresies, emphasis added).Anyone who doubts that Islam has been “the most formidable and persistent enemy which our civilization has had,” should familiarize themselves with that civilization’s long militant history vis-à-vis the West.
According to Islamic history, in 628, Muhammed, the Arabic founder of Islam, called on the Byzantine Emperor, Heraclius -- the symbolic head of Christendom -- to recant Christianity and embrace Islam. The emperor refused, jihad was declared, and the Arabs invaded Christian Syria, defeating the imperial army at the pivotal Battle of Yarmuk in 636 [... which one prominent historian described as the world’s “most consequential”].
This victory enabled the Muslims to swarm in all directions, so that, less than a century later, they had conquered the greater, older, and richer part of Christendom, including Syria, Egypt, and North Africa.
Their drive into Europe from the east was repeatedly frustrated by the Walls of Constantinople; after the spectacularly failed siege of 717-718, many centuries would pass before any Muslim power thought to capture the imperial city.

To be fair, Nazis and Commies killed more people...and to this day, our greatest threats remain from within.
Many here do not understand this. The repeatedly call for “bringing the troops home”, failing to realize that the musselmen will follow and continue the jihad here. These people seem to think that the “gun behind every blade of grass” theory will some how prevent the Islamic war continuing on US soil.
As well meaning as they are, they are in the end just ‘useful idiots’ and enablers to the deaths of all that resist the jihad.
That said, I think the commies and muzzies both represent existential threats and we have to be careful not to dismiss either in favor of the other.
We will have to fight two enemies, sometimes on the same front and sometimes on different battle fields.

It has started here already, laws protecting classes has enabled them protection under our laws, elected two radical muslum women to congress already starting trouble, NYC has enacted muslim community police patrols, patrolled by muslims only, And most damaging of all thanks to the a##clown president obama they air dropped muslims in the middle of the night into mid west states creating enclaves that will grow in time

President Thomas Jefferson read the Koran. I too read the Koran. I call all Americans to read the Koran. After reading it you will understand that it is indeed the religion of absolute conquest and submission. Freewill be damned in Islam, submit or die. It is quite foreign and antithetical to Christianity. We cannot peacefully coexist, they will not allow it.
I’m amazed that American women aren’t up in arms when these hooded Muslim women hold political power in the US; Western values are threatened by these evil oppressors, and women in particular are targeted (those headscarves are the most obvious symbol of oppression, and visible to all).
I have no expectations of Pope Francis, but I can’t believe he actually said (publicly), “Despite the diversity of cultures and traditions, the Christian and Islamic worlds appreciate and protect common values: life, family, religious sense, honor for the elderly, the education of the young, and others as well”.
Few Muslims see any point to formal education for women (we see some in the West, but they are a drop in the bucket - see the kidnapped African girls for how most Muslims view women), and their “religious sense” requires them to subdue or kill people of other faiths. Non-Muslims aren’t even allowed in Mecca - does any other religion have such a place?

Satan is our most formidable and persistent enemy. Satan advocates for socialism, for fake and anti-freedom religions, for abortion, for sexual license, for ‘gender’ ambiguity, and for a hundred other choices that oppose God’s word. When we corner him on one issue, Satan quickly shifts to another.
The big picture is that we have to protect our values in every aspect of our own lives, and we have to protect our culture from attacks on all fronts.
Most here on FR know Islam is incompatible with the West. It has always been so and will always be so.
