FULL TITLE: Millennials lead the mass Facebook exodus: More than 15 MILLION users in the US have quit the site in the last two years over privacy concerns
More than 17 million young Americans have quit Facebook in the last two years amid a number of data privacy scandals hit the social network.
Former fans of the site, aged between 12 and 34, have abandoned it in the wake of damaging reports, including the Cambridge Analytica debacle.
US users are the most lucrative market for the social media network and it is alienating the highly coveted youth as teens and millennials shun the app.
A report from market research firm Edison Research found they are flocking instead to Facebook's sister site - Instagram.

Two more stay on to message with a handful of people but don’t participate on the regular site at all.

Facebook is the only social media platform to which I belong. Then again, I’ve only logged in about 5-6 times in the last 5-6 years....

Remember there used to be something about ten years ago competing with facebook called myspace? It still exists but is basically a non entity right now. That could be facebook’s future. Social Media is here to stay, however the sites we use for social media may still come and go. Those of us old enough to remember know that IBM use to be the king of technology, then it was Microsoft. These giants can all fall...

I had a Facebook acciunt for approximately 3 months back in 2012 and then deleted it once I realized it was nothing more than a billboard for turds to promote their empty, boring and fulfilled lives. Just a bunch of douchebages willing to prostitute themselves and their lives for 15 minutes of fame.
Again, Facebook sucks balls and Zuckerberg is a total douchebag.

I doubt the Cambridge Analyitica fiasco had anything to do with the young people moving on. The reporter has no way of knowing that and is the reason they are leaving. The reporter is only inserting his narrative into the story. Journalism is so lost.
Too late dumbies. Facebook has all your shit in their databases and will continue to make money off of you long after you’re dead.
