President Trump on Friday threatened to close the Southern Border next week if Mexico does not “immediately stop” the record-breaking surge of illegal immigrants flooding into the United States.
Trump's warning comes as Customs and Border Protection officials say March is on pace to exceed 100,000 border apprehensions -- the highest monthly total in a decade. According to CBP, this week alone, agents have more than 12,000 migrants in custody.,
“The DEMOCRATS have given us the weakest immigration laws anywhere in the World. Mexico has the strongest, & they make more than $100 Billion a year on the U.S.,” Trump tweeted. “Therefore, CONGRESS MUST CHANGE OUR WEAK IMMIGRATION LAWS NOW, & Mexico must stop illegals from entering the U.S. through their country and our Southern Border.”

It should be completely closed to all commerce and people.
It’s time to nut up or shut up Mr. President.
Just do it, and leave it shut for a very very long time. Like until the entire distance has a via wall / barrier against invaders.

And yet NOT ONE State has bothered to invoke the US Constitution and demand the President Call up the Military to protect them from INVASION!!!

I support the president, but on this, I don’t believe him.
He has made similar ultimatums before having to do with the Caravan. I appreciate that he wants to protect our borders,
but the invaders think they have far more to gain by ignoring our American laws. I thought the new Mexican president was going to do much more to stop it.
If Mr. Trump pushes forward with this idea of ‘closing the border’, I hope his people figure it out ahead of time what if any exceptions there will be. I expect some trade will still be permitted. Let us all know what trade, at which points of the border and with who in Mexico. How will this be enforced? Hopefully, the Mexican Govt. will make this happen to a large degree so that it’s not just America against all Latino nations. That will only confuse the issue , encouraging more Tribalism and more rebellion.
I’m getting really tired of Trump talking about what he may do. There’s over a million cases in backlog with the immigration courts (Sessions attempt at reducing this is now reversed) and we now have catch and release again because the system is past capacity.
This is an existential crisis and the hour of decision is now.

Just close the border right now! Stop talking or warning Mexico. Mexico has been more of an enemy than a friend for many many years, and it’s about time we start treating them as such.
